John is one of the most experienced sailors in the world, clocking close to 400,000 Nautical miles sailed in a variety of boats, all over the planet. 

He has spent 42 years in the sailing industry and given over 150 offshore training passages and lectured on passage making in some of sailings most prestigious venues. His company also now offers online offshore passage training and 

John has authored 7 books and is a contributing editor for Sailing Magazine. His books include some of the sailing industries best sellers and go to reads for cruisers all over the world.

His vessel is a 1987 Kaufman 47, Built in Taiwan and a well respected time proven blue water cruiser and is currently sailing in the Arctic
