An engaged conversation with Julieanne Nassetta Combest (mystic, doula, business coach, tarot reader, bodywork therapist and breathwork practitioner) about her journey through healing and expansion. She speaks about the ways she sought out a fresh start, independence and self-discovery after being in a limited, oppressed environment that no longer served her. Her many moves compelled her to find spirit, herself. From this confidence, she has been able to integrate her new self in old and new spaces which led to much upheaval. When in these spaces, she faced many challenges from coming out to not being supported by her family to rejection and even heartbreak. A lot of healing and relational work came out of this. The major theme that emerged, “Who are you at the core and how do you feel about yourself? Do you believe that you are worthy of love, joy and pleasure?”
In all of us there is a deep truth that we are divine!
Julie shares how bodywork and breathwork has impacted her through her journey with Temple Healing Arts RVA. She speaks to her initial insecurities and first experience with massage and how it healed much energy, emotion, grief and trauma that she had suppressed over the years. Bodywork is accessible and inclusive for everyone it is healthcare, deep healing work even though it is often seen as fancy luxury spa experience. Her business is focused on spiritual healing work. She stepped into breathwork facilitation on her own then manifested a training class and now shares it as a modality through Temple Healing Arts RVA. Breathwork is reported to be an immediate change in one’s life. The brain often fights the process initially and over time the body takes over. Energy starts to move out of the body. Breathwork brings emotional release, connection to the self, connection to spirit and any stuck energy begins to move out the body. “If we are not changing the chemistry of the body then it’s not going to work.”

The 7 types of rest we all need include physical, mental, emotional, social, creative, spiritual and sensory rest. There are different techniques we can use to fulfill rest in our lives like more sleep, naps, deep breathing, relaxation, stretching, music, meditation, silence, offloading emotion baggage, talking to a good listener, going to therapy, catching up with an old friend or conversely taking a break from socializing, reading a book, taking a walk in nature, doing things that give you a sense of purpose or meaning, turning off devices/screens and finding quiet. Consistency and intentionality creates habits in our lives. Whether its waking up early, getting into a fitness routine, finding your quiet or even reading a book - you consistently doing these things create behaviors in your life. Behaviors, addictions, habits, ways of being, mindset, thoughts require us to shift from doing things the way we have always done it. It’s time to try something new, recharge and revitalize our lives.
This year was one of those years that went by so fast. So much transformation has occurred in myself that has been way beyond what my mind and diction can fathom/articulate. Blessings and love has shown itself upon my life. I am proud of myself for honing into my vision and having a greater sense of my, “Why.” I’ve got a handle on seasonal depression, anxiety, dissatisfaction and unfulfillment through therapy and shadow work. This year I traveled a lot (locally, nationally, and internationally), spent time with my family/friends and truly did my soul work. Being more intentional about my finances has put me in a better position than I had been this past year. I have pushed myself beyond the limits to gain clarity and I feel way lighter. The things that have been good for my wellness and well-being: breathwork, massages, pulling oracle cards, journaling, researching, learning myself, meditation, moving my body and going out in nature. Surrounding myself with positive people, protecting my energy and setting boundaries have been really beneficial for my year as well. There is nothing I would change and I have no regrets. I am exactly where I am meant to be.
Extension of gratitude to my listeners, experiences and loved ones.

Sacred spaces for creating and fostering sisterhood, friendship and community do exist! The common goal of wanting to heal as women is what connected Jamila Rachel and I. Jamila Rachel, mentor, community advocate, tutor and IT Help Desk Specialist, shares her exploration through mentorship, education, religion, spiritual modalities, love and life lessons. She discusses the challenges that emerge when stepping out of ones comfort zone to reap the benefits of our harvest. Our perspectives in friendship and sisterhood can be changed by the people we choose to surround ourselves with. We discuss techniques used to cope for self care: prayer, yoga, setting boundaries and being conscious of what one eats. Having faith is so essential in navigating through this life. At times, our faith may waver and we must tap into the modalities that brings us back to believing in the things we cannot see. Different religions tend to open the doorway for spirituality. We may be blessed with people in our lives who see the light in us, when we cannot see in ourselves. Sisterhood and community is built on a foundation of love, trust and support. It is up to us to create the spaces we wish to see. We have to be the example for what we wish to see in the world.

“There’s been plenty of times those close to me missed important dates and occasions but I don’t have bad blood towards them. Some people are genuinely doing the best they know how with what they got. We can’t expect even our closest loved ones to always be there or have space for us. Support is a two way street yes but give people grace to be what they can be not who you want them to be. I had to stop taking a lot personal a long time ago. The biggest lesson for me right now is learning how to parent, befriend, show up for, and love MYSELF. P.S. Cling to nothing/no one.”
On this journey, I had to get into a space where I stopped taking things personally because everything is not meant to be taken personal. We have to release these attachments that we have with human things to truly connect to source energy/spirit. There is so much pressure put on people by societal expectations as to how we are suppose to show up in specific roles in life. Honestly, people are showing up the way, in which, they know how. They are using the tools, knowledge and experiences they have gained and are just tying to figure it out. We are ALL trying to figure it out. It is time to go beyond these structures that are conditioned for us to meet. We have to parent, befriend, and support ourselves. No more looking unto others for external validation. We have to be in a space where we step into our own sovereignty, autonomy and self-sufficiency. Know that these societal structures mean nothing in the realm of higher consciousness, source energy.
The age of social media made me notice key things about imitation and duplication, that everyone are not original nor have the ability to be an innovator. I realize that people who carbon-copy me, are inspired by me. I am truly gifted as a creator as I can make something from nothing. I no longer search for people to give me recognition for copying me. Sometimes I want to share my achievements, goals and accomplishments but I had to take a step back and realize that showing these things don’t really matter. I no longer allow myself to feel guilty about not posting on social media as soon as things happen. I’m prioritizing my life differently, offering myself grace and space to just be in moments for myself, without having to announce everything. I feel so much pressure when having to post on so many platforms at once. It gives me anxiety! I am moving away from the constant need to be relevant, the desire to have certain amount of followers/subscribers, to make a certain amount of money, to have sponsorships and ads run on my platforms, getting invited to events and moving into a space where I can create, do something I love and enjoy and share my voice in a way that resonates and helps others.
Affirm: The doors of opportunity are open for me. I am in a space of surrendering to the idea that I have to work a job to pay bills/live to pay bills. I don’t dream of labour BUT I am willing to work in healthy environments, places where people respect and appreciate my talents for who it is that I am and where customers compensate me generously for my skills, talents, abilities and who I am. I am taken care of with or without my job. I do not feel guilty for making the best decisions for my mental health and emotional stability. I have courage that everything I need is readily available for me. Trust and believe that it is so!

There have been so many times where I have felt misaligned in my life. In turn, I had to be redirected in order to continue on the path of my evolutionary process and spiritual growth. I took time to go hermit mode recently to focus on myself and building my own personal security and stability from within. As within so without.
Recently, I accessed my past relationships. There was this narrative that I created that I could not have an attractive person who treats me well, that if I did have someone physically attractive in my life that I had to do two things in order to keep them: give them whatever they asked for and whatever they wanted. As a relational being, I truly love companionship but haven’t always made the healthiest decisions nor set the best boundaries with others. Overtime, I had to learn to speak up for myself and demand my true heart’s desires. It was truly a process to get to this point. When you get tired of being sick and tired, you will step into your power and leave situations and relationships that no longer serve you. This is why it is so important to know yourself and not allow loved ones/societal expectations to be your puppet master. Guard your heart with all diligence (Proverbs 4:23) and protect your energy, always. Have discernment when it comes to energy vampires and narcissists. Keep them at a distance; love them from a far.
Self-expression, sexual prowess and divine feminine energy embodiment is so important in creating the reality you want for your life. My experiences in past relationships and connections have taught me to learn the things I don’t like/what I do like, to speak up for myself, to articulate my needs and desires, and gave me the tools I needed to stop people pleasing. These things prepared me to be a strong, confident woman who speaks up for herself. Know that receiving and having pleasure in your life is okay. No one should relinquish their pleasure for the emotional fulfillment of others. Misalignment helped me gain wisdom through learning lessons presented to me in life.

In this episode, we discuss how it is time to take action, release practicality, and make adjustments. I have been called to do intuitive readings for the collective and using oracle cards as a tool to facilitate these messages. As I am coming into my own autonomy and releasing lessons learned from my past upbringing and stepping into my purpose more. I am truly expanding right now and I have been shown the reflection of me in others. It’s like I’m connecting more and more with my soul tribe each and everyday. I cannot wait for you all to meet them at some point on the show. I am truly supported! Practicing yoga, meditating and different breathing techniques have been extremely helpful in me going into the void of my essence. There are so many reminders that I experience in my life that shows me how I am on the right path. I am being conscious and intentional of the things I am spending my money on. I am creating the foundation for something greater than fulfilling temporary satisfactions. Even still, listening to my intuitive knowingness is guiding me in the direction of a truly fulfilled life in the most simple things. How rewarding! I am so grateful to be supported by my spirit guides in this way. Go into things with the best intentions when decision making. Be in a space where you can be your authentic self. Do not hide who you are. No more compartmentalizing parts of yourself for the benefits of how others want you to show up. Integrate the multi-dimensionality of the self into oneness. Source energy.

In this episode, we discuss an occurrence where a woman was denied access to a local church due to the fact that she did not have a negative COVID test or vaccination card. Zaza Ali replies, “this is the time where the temple within will reign supreme. Everyone is showing their hand right now. People, institutions, religions - they’re all showing us who and what they’ve been all along. Nature will bring you solace sis. Identify the beautiful places in your area and commune with God directly, without interference from a frequency that serves a God other than yours. The book says 144,000 right? Stand with pride and walk tall ❤️ this will only last a short time.” This speaks volumes because a lot of times we search outside of ourselves for our healing while the answers are really inside of us. That is God energy. Be empowered by who you are as a divine being. Your strengths, abilities, talents and skills within has equipped you for this time to get through challenges, tribulations and difficult times in life. Do not allow external forces to convince you that you are not enough. This is not to be internalized but it is to be released. Full moon rituals are important in letting go of the things, people, thoughts, beliefs and narratives that do not serve you anymore.
This podcast is a sacred space to share thoughts, beliefs, opinions and perspectives without judgement. The opportunity to commune with like-minds is truly a blessing. The most valuable lessons I have learned are those that came through by living. We are learning everyday! Be aware. Listen more. Acknowledge the happenings of your life. Be in the flow. Nothing happens by chance. All the decisions you are making are preparing you for every moment. When you find yourself in a space that you are ungrounded, consider communing with nature. We are human beings co-creating with the universe. We are all essential to the circle of life. It is a time to shift our ways of living from the old paradigm into a new one that is clean, holistic, alkaline, natural so on and so forth. This will keep you alive and healthy. Share your knowledge and insight with your family and communities and encourage them to be bold and courageous during these times. We are raising the vibration!
Greater is coming than what we have seen. The positions of power are shifting. There is a tower moment that is building. Institutions and people of the old system is being pulled off the throne. The phoenixes, Liliths, queers, chosen ones, beacons of light are rising up in this new age.

In this episode, I’m feeling a little under the weather and share some of my natural remedies to bring myself back to health. Cerasee tea is something I’m am trying for the first time. It is a great detoxifier and really helps the gut. The root of many sicknesses and ailments can be combatted in the gut health. This is from my experience not health advice, always check with your medical doctor before considering any natural remedies.

For ya’ll who don’t know, I am in a long-distance relationship and my partner returned home this week. This week has been a metamorphosis. Think of it as CHANGE. An analogy that it is linked to would be that of a butterfly transitioning from a caterpillar. I’ve been processing the feels of Flame not being here and finding my own sense of individuality outside of my partnership. On my earlier journey, I was a needy, codependent person in relationships. At times, I fear abandonment and I know it stems from childhood. With this newfound awareness I can practice embracing and accepting the time I have by myself. It has been helpful being open to the space of being alone. I’ve found security with being with me.. the trueness of who I am. Times are changing for me and I am appreciative that I am the master of my reality.
It’s stacktober (October). Time to set those new money goals, if you haven’t already. I have positioned myself to improve my income and quality of life. Admittedly, I’m nervous going into a new industry but something in my spirit is telling me that this is where I’m supposed to be. It makes me emotional! Investing in yourself can be scary, at first, but we have to step out our comfort zones to really grow. Also, there is value in where you are, as it is building the foundation for where you are going. Be intentional about your actions and ensure that they align with your purpose. Do more things for yourself that make you feel good so you can show up in the world as your ultimate self. Find something this month that you can invest into and in turn invest back into yourself.

In this episode, we talk about the process of RESET and why it is important. We often long to get consistent with something. It is important to have a routine that fosters our growth during transitional phases of our lives. Reset moments are so key. After listening to Lemon Water podcast’s interview with Liz Tran, I was shook. We are stepping into a new season with the most recent Fall Equinox so now is the time to reset. I’m guilty of overpacking my to-do lists, going to and fro, ripping and running so to step out of my mind space... I mediate. It allows me time to be with myself and be self centered. Being selfish is important because you deserve to be there for yourself. We must unpack the programming of putting others before ourselves. Know that you can step away from it all, as needed; it is necessary for your well-being and highest good. Meditation can be so simple. It is fully customizable so make it your own. Meditation is something I, personally, want to step into more for my own embodiment. I can already see the benefits it has had on relieving my anxiety, soothing overwhelm and even strengthening my sense of self worth. I strongly encourage you to get a meditative practice for yourself, if you don’t have one already. Our goals require sacrifice. Though being productive and having goals is commendable, try not to let it over consume you and take you away from your true essence.
Be in the flow. Go with the flow. Be in the moment more. Find time for yourself.
