Hari Om, and welcome all on this Tuesday. Happy Solstice!
Today is the longest day of the year for those of us in the Northern hemisphere, and the longest night for those in the South. We use this auspicious day to understand that we are in a state of flux, always. Our bodies (physical, mental, and emotional bodies alike), like the cosmic bodies, are moving in a dance with one another. Our thoughts move through us, mixing into our muscles, our blood, and our bones. Our Emotions permeate our thoughts, painting them like so many canvases. Our bodies speak through our emotions. We are shifting.
Breathe into this shift. Our breathwork today is a bit more intensive than usual, utilizing two more active breathing practices of Bhastrika Pranyama, or Bellows breath, and Kapalbhati Pranayama, or Shining Skull breath. These forceful in and out breaths awaken within us a deeper relationship of our breath to our sensations, our thoughts, and our feelings. We sit with this and move into our space of welcoming in meditation.
The music for today's session is provided by me. You are hearing harmonium, singing bowls, tuning fork, and chimes.
