Hari Om and good EVENING!
It is Sutra Saturday and we are coming in at night instead of morning today. The new schedule will be panned out over the next couple of weeks, so bear with me, and support when you can by enjoying the new content when it arrives on Spotify and Audible by subscribing or following the pages there. Today for our sutrawe are at sutra 9 in book three of The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali:
Vyutthāna nirodha saṁskārayor abhibhava prādurbhāvau
nirodha kṣaṇa cittānvayo nirodha pariṇāmḥ.
Vyutthāna = rising up, awakening; nirodha = suppressive,
checked;
saṁskārayoḥ = of the two impressions;
abhibhava = disappear; prāduḥ = arising;
bhāvau = appear; nirodha = suppression, checked;
kṣaṇa = moment; citta = mind; anvayḥ = conjunction;
nirodha = suppression, checked;
pariṇāmḥ = transformation, development.
The impressions which normally arise are made to
disappear by the appearance of suppressive efforts, which in
turn create new mental modifications. The moment of
conjunction of mind and new modifications is nirodha
pariṇāmḥ.
The discussiion within leads us to the reptition of the notion that Practice makes perfection of itself, whatever that practice may be. We are always in an ongoing gravitation towards perfection, and we must then make effort to release ourselves fromt he limitations we build in our practices of thinking and feeling in certain ways. As we come into the practice of meditation, we are coming to the practice of conscious acceptance and receiving, as well as conscious releasing and surrendering. This is breath. From there, we are open to become.
Thank you for joining me, and sticking with me, on this Journey Home Meditation through all of the changes. I appreciate you.
All In Love,
Michael
