This week we are reading from the 55th number from "Way to Inner Peace." We only have five more times together reading from Bishop Sheen's book. I always get a little sad when we come to the end of our time with a book. But, it's not the end yet. Our topic today is on humility. If you follow me on social media, you know that one of the things I struggle with the most is pride. I do try very hard to be a humble person, but I have to have a lot of help.
Three Key Points: Gifts, recognition, and gratitude.
This week we are reading the 54th number from "Way to Inner Peace." One of the questions I get asked pretty frequently on my social media pages is, "Why is God allowing us to go through all these dark times?" I know how they feel, because in my own life, in a very personal way, I felt very much like this. The difference was, was that I wasn't praying to God or seeking God to help with my cares and burdens. Our topic for this week is simply called "Cares." Some people do cast their burdens on God and some don't and Bishop Sheen explores that with us.
Three Key Points: Helplessness, pride, and humility.
This week we are reading the 53rd number from "Way to Inner Peace." Our topic is inner nakedness. It seems that we spend more time focused on how we look externally than working on our interior. But, does the state of our soul manifest itself on the external? I think so and Bishop Sheen is going to explain why that is. Some people try to hide the bad state of their soul by striving to look like they have it all together. Some people have a beautiful soul but don't necessarily spend lots of time and money on external looks. We will explore these different types of people.
Three Key Points: External, internal, and holiness.
Today is the conclusion of our year together. I felt it was fitting to end this year by praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet. So, grab your rosary and let's send this amazing year off by praying the beautiful chaplet of mercy taught to us through this diary.
St. Faustina, pray for us!
Today's final readings are numbers 1825-1828.
CONGRATULATIONS ON FINISHING THE DIARY!
What a day! Thank you, God, for the gift of a wonderful year together reading Sister Faustina's Diary.
We have one more day left in the year and I hope you'll come back tomorrow to pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet with me.
Today's readings are from Notebook 6, numbers 1822-1824.
Only a few more days left, Catholic Pilgrims.
Again, today will be another short day. We are just letting Sister Faustina's words soak into us.
Today's readings are from Notebook 6, numbers 1817-1821.
Just like the past couple of days, this is going to be a super short day. We will have just a few readings, but again, I invite you to just soak in Sister Faustina's words on Holy Communion.
Today's readings are from Notebook 6, numbers 1812-1816.
Just like yesterday, let's just enjoy this special time with Sister Faustina as she talks about our most perfect Sacrament--Holy Communion.
This week we are reading the 52nd number from "Way to Inner Peace." There's the famous story in the Bible about Martha and Mary. Well, I'm a Martha. I'm the one who can never sit still and just be at rest. What we see in that story is the blending of faith and works. In Mary, we see the faith. In Martha, we see the works but she has the wrong attitude. She's very self-focused instead of looking to serve with love. If you haven't caught on, this week's topic is on work.
Three Key Points: Complaining, intention, and betterment.
Today's readings will be from Notebook 6, numbers 1808-1811.
After today, only five days left.
Much like yesterday, we will just have a short reading and let Sister Faustina teach us in these last few days together.
