Kick-off ChillOut Festival 2024 with a free community event at the Daylesford Masonic Lodge, hosted by fabulous ChillOut veterans Dean Arcuri and Polly Filla.

Sing along with talented local primary school choirs and cheer as we turn on the rainbow lights at the Town Hall, all before it’s lights out time for kids.

Jane Harrison, the festival director of Melbournes biannual First Nations Literature Festival Blak and Bright joined Rach & Dean to discuss the 2024 program,

Running from the 13th to 17th of March, the Festival is empowering and celebrating First Nations writers and storytellers and boasts an almost entirely free festival, with this years theme being Blak Futures Now.

SBS and production partner Blink TV have announced that ehe duo of Zaachariaha Fielding and Michael Ross that is Electric Fields will perform ‘One Milkali (One Blood)’ as Australia’s Eurovision 2024 representative. 

Runners up in last Australia decides in 2019, their song includes the Indigenous language Yankunytjatjara, the first time a dialect of Australia’s First People will feature in the competition.

JOY Eurovision’s Michael Pohl joined Rach & Dean to discuss todays announcement and hear our track for the first time on the JOY airwaves.

Your first time marching in Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras can be a jumble of emotions, from nerves to excitement and more. In the lead up to this years March, Rach & Dean put the call out to first time marchers to share their experience before the parade – and they are really beautiful.

The Victorian Volunteering Awards recognise, celebrate and thank volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations for their extraordinary and selfless contributions to the Victorian people, communities, culture and environment.

Earlier this week the Awards took place and a familiar voice to JOY Breakfast received not one, but two awards. Caitlin Grigsby was awarded the Victorian Volunteering Leadership Award for her stewardship and work with the Gippsland Pride Initiative, and was also the recipient of the Premier’s Volunteer of the Year Award, the Dame Elisabeth Murdoch Award.

Rach & Dean welcomed Catlin back to the show to say congratulations.

This Saturday, JOY will showcase a Mardi Gras Spectacular featuring a tonne of sweat soaked dance anthems, our roving reporters on Oxford St in Sydney and surprise artist interviews from 7pm.

Rach & Dean caught up with the host on the night, JOY’s award-winning Tim Little – 2023 for Hide and Seek, who will be bringing your gold glitter hot pants and get ready to boogey the night away.
