Back in September, Rach & Dean had a great chat with Grant Hansen in the lead up to the referendum on the Indigenous Voice to Parliament.

Grant has been involved in many roles, from sports, radio, TV, and music to being a strong community leader and they welcomed him back on JOY Breakfast post the Referendum result to explore where we are at now.

What impact has it had on him and his community, and what are his hopes for the future?

Pride is set to dazzle and excite in Greater Shepparton with Goulburn Valley Pride this years as OUTintheOPEN Festival shines a rainbow this November.

Celebrating LGBTIQA+ pride and community diversity in all its forms, the festival includes an array of events for all ages and interests from the 10th – 19th November across the Goulburn Valley.

This is a day-to-night, drop-in, outdoor event that welcomes the whole rainbow community and their allies. No booking is necessary, just drop by.

Grab a drink and wander into our queer oasis take in some sweet beats from our lineup of queer DJ’s, watch the mural artist at work  catch some queer cinema , a pop up performance , check out our dance party “Disco Queer”  wander through our queer exhibitions , decorate yourself at our Glitter station and leave a message for the queer community of Shepp

GLOBE Victoria events are a great way to meet other likeminded people, expand your professional network and support the LGBTIQ+ communities in a casual social atmosphere.

Q+ Pride Pop-Up

Last time Rach & Dean connected with their resident clinical psychotherapist Ando to get some advice about being stuck in the middle of two friends fighting, they brought up the challenge of having compassion for both and the toll it can take on the person stuck in the middle.

So as they welcomed Ando back onto JOY Breakfast they jumped into the topic of compassion fatigue, a term often reserved for those in the helping professions – what does it mean and is there a cure?

Today the Breakfast team celebrated World Vegan Day and had a yarn with Author and Social Media Star Zacchary Bird about some of the fantastic options there are for vegans in this present day.

Rach and Dean also look into some things you just wouldn’t believe aren’t vegan…did you say LCD screens? Yep, that’s right, everything from Bricks and cement to wine and LCD Screens!

Rach and Dean are joined by Melvin from Melbourne Zoo to bust 8 Myths about Spiders on this ooky spooky Halloween special.

Melvin is an invertebrate keeper at Melbourne Zoo, where he looks after bugs like giant burrowing cockroaches, butterflies and the critically endangered Lord Howe Island Stick Insects.

Melvin’s favourite bug is a ladybug – he has loved them ever since he was a young boy and says there are the one that got him into invertebrates.
