From 3k, to 2k, and back down to even 1k... I'm oddly excited to see where my follower count goes on Instagram.
For those of you that are my real followers, (which is probably you if you're actually taking the time to read this description) you probably know that I HATE playing "the game" on social media.
The game of joining engagement groups, beating the algorithm, liking for likes, following for follows, etc.
IT SUCKS.
So I couldn't be HAPPIER to see all of the players of this game hitting the unfollow button next to my name.
I care a lot more about my 31 subscribers on YouTube that all are backing me and supporting me, than the scrub that followed me on Instagram, hoping for a follow and a thousand likes in return.

This week JRP DAILY invites Laura Pennington-Briggs on to talk about how she went from being an inner-city school teacher, to a full-time, six-figure, freelance writer.
Laura was the woman who presented the "The Future is Freelancing" TEDx talk which was released on YouTube last month.
Nowadays, you can probably find a lot of content around about becoming a freelancer, working from home, having more flexible hours, and the ability to travel. Although this space is starting to seem overly saturated and/or crowded... it can still work for a lot of people.
Many of us, myself included, find ourselves asking questions like "How can I make money online?" or "How can I start my own freelance business?"
Well... take it from someone who has actually done it.
In this interview we go over obtaining clients, pricing your services, deciding what service to actually provide, and more.
Freelancing is a great way for you to earn some extra income online, whether that just be a side hustle for you, or if you are looking to make a full time income freelancing.
Freelancing has the power to allow you to be your own boss, quit your day job, and escape the rat race.
So if you have ever had any questions about freelancing, you just might find the answers in this freelance podcast interview.
Enjoy.

This week, we taught ourselves about the flow state of mind, and now we are going to teach you what we have learned.
If you have ever heard of flow before, you probably just thought to yourself "what is flow?" It's not a term that is used all that often if you're not in the realm of psychology.
The flow state is sort of like being "in the zone." You know? When you get so involved in whatever it is that you're doing, that you lose all sense of time and what's going on around you. You are just hyper focused on the task at hand.
So what does this have to do with being a better student? After all, this is Star Student Sunday.
Well let me tell you. With a better understanding of the flow state of mind, you might not be able to really control it, but you'll be able to recognize it and use it to its fullest potential when you have the chance.
Understanding the flow state may help you if you have ever wondered how to get better focus, or how to focus on studying. Overall, it plays a role in being a better student, if you use it right.
Now also keep in mind that we are NOT psychologists nor do we have any formal education in these matters. This segment of the podcast is designed to take what we have in experience, and what we learn through self-education in order to try and help you become a better student.
If you want to know more details about the flow state, you can probably find episodes on it in just about any psychology podcast.

If you had to give a valuation of yourself, in a dollar amount, what number would you come up with?
What dollar is the dollar that separates you from your dreams?
How much can someone PAY you... in order to stop working toward your goals, and start working toward theirs?
$50,000 per year?
$100,000 per year?
Can you be sold?
You might be surprised....

Today was probably one of the better days I've had in a while to be honest.
Now don't get me wrong... I'm not saying all the other days are bad or anything... today just topped them.
Why? Because today was a recording day for us on "Star Student Sunday" and I LOVE recording days because I get to learn.
LEARN? WHAT?!
That's right. I like learning. You all know that by now. And there is NOTHING like learning more about production from... PRODUCING STUFF!
I've finally gotten myself to start putting MONEY into this podcast. It has a huge return.
Not only do I get awesome equipment when I buy it... but I get to learn how to use it.
When I learn how to use it... my podcast gets better. It also gives me skills, and skills make me more appealing to clients that I could do production for in the future.
This is how "investing in yourself" works.
A lot of times when you put money into things... there's a good chance that you are going to get some form of return on it... or you wouldn't have the willingness to pay.... right?

How good are you at remembering people's names?
Personally, I can't stand it when someone tries to recommend a show, podcast, book, etc. to me... but then can't tell me the name of the host or the author. Is it really worth me watching/reading if you can't even remember who produced the work?
Whether or not you remember and use another person's name can actually send a lot of signals their way. It can let them know how much you actually care about who they are, or what they do.
Just think about that the next time you meet someone, or watch a cool new show. Remember their name. It can really go a long way.

Everybody likes to think that they are pretty good at admitting that they're wrong, but are they really?
The biggest problem with admitting that you're wrong, is that it often means that you have to admit that someone else is right... and in order to admit that someone else is right, you have to actually consider what they're saying, analyze their point, and say to yourself "oh hey... good point."
That is the part that we find ourselves doing far less often than we should. Opening our minds to the possibility that someone else actually has a good point/reason during an argument.
So here's how you can get better at that.

Brad Sugars is the founder of the global business coaching company ActionCOACH.
Starting at a very young age, Brad started learning how to buy or build businesses, and then turn around and sell them for a profit.
Eventually though, he realized that he would need to start a business that he could sustain, or else he would just drive himself into the ground. That's when ActionCOACH was born.
Brad's plan was to make a lot of money in his 30s, but that quickly changed when his company first hit the million dollar mark when he was just 23 years old.
If he wasn't already interesting enough, let me add that Brad was born and raised in Australia, has written 17 business books (and counting), and is a survivor of the Route 91 incident in Las Vegas that happened in 2017, along with his wife. As a matter of fact, his youngest daughter, Riley, was the youngest survivor of that tragic event.
So we'll leave the rest of Brad's story in the interview, but if you want to learn more about him or his company, be sure to follow him on all the forms of social media, and also be sure to check out some of his 17 books!
