U.S. appeals court judges questioned on Thursday whether President Donald Trump's tariffs were justified by the president's emergency powers. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C., is considering the legality of "reciprocal" tariffs that Trump imposed on a broad range of U.S. trading partners in April, as well as tariffs imposed in February against China, Canada and Mexico.

Trump said on Thursday he had agreed with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to extend an existing trade deal with Mexico for 90 days and continue talks over that period with the goal of signing a new deal. "Mexico will continue to pay a 25% Fentanyl Tariff, 25% Tariff on Cars, and 50% Tariff on Steel, Aluminum, and Copper. Additionally, Mexico has agreed to immediately terminate its Non Tariff Trade Barriers, of which there were many," Trump said in a Truth Social post.

Delta Air Lines said an Airbus A330-900 from Salt Lake City to Amsterdam was hit by serious turbulence on Wednesday, forcing the flight to divert to Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. The airline said 25 passengers were taken to hospitals for evaluation and treatment. One passenger said people who weren't wearing seat belts were thrown about the cabin.
