  • Juicy Communication 101: The Basics
In this episode we discuss the four basic communication styles: passive, passive aggresive, aggresive and assertive. We talk about how our childhood impacts the way we relate today and refernce the Attachment Styles. We speak on fight/flight/fawn/freeze responses to a disregulated nervous system and how that impacts the way we show up in communication and reactivity. We briefly touch on communicating with minimal harm, also known as Non-Violent Communication. The end of the episode offers different assertive phrases to practice (including mirroring/reflecting, checking in, saying 'thank you' versus 'I'm sorry' and respectfully declining etc).
This episode will prep you for the rest of the series. Please consider listening to the episodes in order, as they are going to build off of eachother. Communication 101 will serve as the foundation.
    Action steps:
    1) Ask yourself: which communication style do you feel you currently lean towards the most (passive, passive-aggressive, aggressive, assertive)?
    2) Ask yourself: which tendency do I have when I am feeling overwhelm (fight/flight/fawn/freeze)?
    3) Take any online quiz to find out your Attachment Style. I recommend using more than one site and cross observing your results on different platforms. Be sure to be super honest with your answers. Here are a couple links to quizzes:

    4) Notice when you tend to apologize and consider swapping it out for a "thank you" instead. Pause or reframe when you witness this happening within yourself.

  • Dancing the Duality
Do you blast gangsta rap on the way to your yoga class, or masterbate as meditation? Do you put 100$ bills on your altar and write in a manifestation journal before going to work at the strip club? Do you eat fully organic but indulge on Taco Bell at 4am after a long night out? This episode explores how existing within both sides of duality makes us truly whole humans. And how removing shoulds, shame and judgment gives other people permission to do the same.

  • Black Lives Matter more than my Stupid Story
In this episode, I finally share what happened two years ago while protesting in Portland. I was beat up, arrested, silenced, doxed, death-threated, isolated, traumatized, and it's taken this long for me to put it into words.

  • The Integration Blues
Travel gives us a richer lens in which we see the world. We have a vast array of new synapses in the brain carved out, contributing to a new way of thinking and, thus, perceiving world. Oftentimes we might struggle on how to practically apply these lessons into who we are, especially when we return and our loved ones expect us to be exactly as we were when we left -- this can feel overwhelming and even isolating. In this episode we explore more on the "Integration Blues" and how to support your wanderlust besties who need extra support when landing back home.

  • NYE Rituals
"New Years Resolutions" are often steeped in intimidation and expectation which sizzle out due to lack of sustainability. In this episode we go over a handful of simple exercises that invite more play and progress with easily digestable reflective rituals.

  • Yin/Yang(femme/masc) Integration
Within us all are two driving forces: dark/light, moon/sun, internal/external, emotion/logic otherwise known as the yin/yang, the feminine and masculine. Often misconstrued within gender norms, in this episode we redefine these forces as innate energies inhabited by all bodies and what the harmonic integration feels like. When we are fully balanced we operate from groundedness, integrity, warmth and presence. When we are imbalanced we fall into our wounded patternings. Let's take a look at what those qualities look like from both angles.
