After twenty years in Hollywood as a screenwriter working for the major studios, Jule Selbo moved to Portland Maine to focus on writing novels. First came three historical fiction books, then she moved into her favorite genre: crime-mystery. 7 DAYS, A Dee Rommel Mystery, is the fourth book in the crime/mystery series that has made Kirkus’ Top 5 mysteries from Indie Publishers List, has been awarded a Silver Falchion and award nominations from Foreword Review, the Clue Award, Maine Literary Award and more. The series begins with 10 DAYS, is followed by 9 DAYS, 8 DAYS, and now 7 DAYS (you can see the pattern). The Dee Rommel Series is a finalist in the CIBA Book Series Awards. Some of her screenwriting credits include: Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, Hercules, Hunchback of Notre Dame II (Disney), Ariel, The Mermaid’s Beginning (Disney), Space Above and Beyond, Melrose Place, Hard Promises (Columbia), Women In Prison (HBO) and more. She was also a professor of film for 15 years, and wrote books on Story Structure and Film Genre that are used in universities.
