Today we’re joined by Director of Global Macro, Jurrien Timmer, as he discusses what’s currently moving the markets and what could be next for investors. Jurrien doesn’t expect the markets to drop to any new lows, but rather it will be in sideways-limbo pattern until it finds the “end game,” as he describes it. It’s a trend Jurrien’s mentioned before where he suggests markets this year will move in a choppy trend that he believes will bugger up both bears and bulls. Jurrien further suggests if the market is in limbo this year, it could lead to different opportunities. The market will be less robust and investors may not experience a huge return as in previous years, but he says this could pave the way for a different pool of opportunities. For example, value stocks over growth, small caps over large caps and international opportunities over US. Jurrien also talks about yield curves, bonds, and what China’s reopening could mean for global markets. Recorded on February 27, 2023.
