I was invited back to my pharmacy school as a guest speaker about patient communication and boy was it an amazing experience! I never would have thought 10 years ago when I had one of my most embarrassing moments in school that some day I would be back in the very same room talking about it, and sharing how this is the thing I'm known for now!

If I have any message to share, it's that anyone can improve at the art of the communication, and it's actually the only thing that matters at the end of the day. And who knows, maybe if you work on the thing that brings you the most shame, in 10 years youll be on a stage speaking about it!

I got interviewed by Northeastern Student, Ani and her classmates for a school project and thought it was a great window into why patient communication, behavioral science, and mastering the art of building trust is so important in todays healthcare world. We review how mastering all of the above will help with:

- keeping patients healthy at a time where insurance seems to run everything

- educating others in a world where information (and misinformation) is at our fingertips

- find fulfillment as a new provider with a lot of loans to pay and dealing with the stress of gaining experience
