We're starting Season 3 off with a case that isn’t just unsolved.
It’s unfinished.
Sam and I started this podcast to give a voice to victims who can no longer speak for themselves… and to help families still searching for answers. This case is exactly why we’re here.
On February 7, 1999, Paul Skiba, his 9-year-old daughter Sarah, and employee Lorenzo Chivers vanished from a moving company lot in Westminster, Colorado. At first, it was treated like a simple custody issue. But what was left behind tells a very different story—one of violence, missed warning signs, and a crime scene that wasn’t taken seriously until it was far too late.
In this episode, we break down the timeline of that day, the devastating investigative missteps, and the disturbing evidence that eventually surfaced. We explore the people closest to Paul, the tensions building in the days leading up to their disappearance, and the theories that still divide this case decades later.
This isn’t a cold case because it can’t be solved. It’s a case that’s been waiting for the right lead, the right memory, the right person to come forward.
Because someone knows something.
And after 27 years, that missing piece could still be out there.

March 16, 2026 Kouri Richins Trial Week 3: Detective Testimony & A Stunning Defense Strategy
Week three of the trial of Kouri Richins brought major developments as prosecutors wrapped up their case in the death of her husband, Eric Richins. Jurors heard key testimony from lead investigator Jeff O’Driscoll, who walked through the investigation, prescription records, and evidence detectives say helped them piece together the events leading up to Eric’s death.
Cross-examination focused heavily on investigative methods and the controversial “walk the dog” letter, with the defense pressing detectives on how evidence was interpreted.
But the biggest moment of the week came after the state rested its case. In a surprising move, the defense for Kouri Richins also rested—without calling a single witness—setting the stage for closing arguments and leaving the jury to decide the case based solely on the prosecution’s evidence and the defense’s cross-examinations.

In 1986, 29-year-old nurse Sherri Rasmussen was found dead in the living room of the condo she shared with her husband in Van Nuys. The crime scene looked like a burglary gone terribly wrong—drawers pulled open, valuables scattered, and a brutal struggle that ended in Sherri’s death.
