The National Library of Israel recently discovered within its collections a unique, handwritten Judeo-Persian Haggadah from the 1800s, containing a poem praising Lady Judith and Sir Moses Montefiore, who worked actively to save Persian Jewish communities from persecution and starvation. Dr. Chaim Neria, Curator of NLI's Haim and Hanna Solomon Judaica Collection, told KAN's Naomi Segal that the dedication highlights how even while facing hardship, the community felt part of the broader Jewish collective.

Passover is one of the most widely celebrated Jewish holidays, known for the Seder, matzah, and the story of the Exodus. But beyond these shared traditions, there is a rich variety of customs that developed across Jewish communities around the world.

KAN's Sarahlee Tschernia spoke with Rabbi Itzhak Ben David, head of the 'Shaarei Zion' Beit Midrash, about the the diverse Passover customs around the world.

How does one approach the Passover holiday at a time of such disruption and chaos? Rabbi Professor Dalia Marx, the Rabbi Aaron D. Panken Professor of Liturgy and Midrash at Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem, told KAN's Naomi Segal that the Passover holiday itself evolved out of crisis, and offers each generation the opportunity to reflect and to grow.

Israel’s operations against Hezbullah in Lebanon would continue, regardless of any possible ceasefire with Iran, until they are weakened enough to be disarmed south of the Litani River. This according to reserve IDF Lt.-Col. Sarit Zehavi, president and founder of Alma Research and Education Center which focuses on the security challenges on the northern border. Speaking to reporter Arieh O’Sullivan, Zehavi said that even if the IDF didn’t expand its ground forces north of the Litani, Israeli strikes against Hezbullah would still continue deep into Lebanon. Yemen's pro-Iran Houthis launched a ballistic missile and a cruise missile at southern Israel on Saturday, describing the attack as a response to continued targeting of infrastructure in Iran, Lebanon, Iraq and Palestinian territories.

Senior Houthi official Mohammed Mansour said his group is considering closing the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, through which roughly one-eighth of global trade typically passes.

Israel said the missiles fired from Yemen were the first since a ceasefire with Hamas in Gaza was declared in October 2025.
