Five people have been confirmed dead after a Toyota Hiace vehicle rammed into an articulated truck on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.

According to the Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Region Police, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh, the driver of the Toyota Hiace died on the spot, while seven injured persons have been hospitalised.

One person is feared dead with others injured in a land clash at Akyem Asunafo in the Atiwa East District of the Eastern Region. Reports indicate the incident occurred on Friday. This was at a time scores of residents abandoned their day’s work to stop an alleged galamsey operation in the area.

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Wassa East, Isaac Agyei Mensah, says President Nana Akufo-Addo’s claim of the government constructing the most roads in the history of Ghana is not true. According to him, the Minister for Roads and Transport, Amoako Atta’s report in February 2022 indicated that about 4,265 kilometers of roads have been done by the government and not the over 10,000 as stated by the President.

President Akufo-Addo has indicated the first phase of the local commercial vaccine production will commence in January 2024. In view of this, a bill will shortly be sent to parliament for support and approval for the establishment of the National Vaccine Institute.

A young boy, 13 years of age has reportedly ended his own life with in an uncompleted apartment at Kasoa. According to report the boy was left under the care of his sister when his mother left home for the market.

Fourteen persons onboard an Accra-bound Ford vehicle from Tarkwa are believed to have died in a car crash at Asem Asa in the Shama District, near the boundary between Western and Central Regions. A number of bodies at the scene of the accident were left charred after the crashed bus caught fire.

A 30-year-old commercial motorcycle rider, Kwame Prah, has been shot by a passenger he was travelling with at Assin Dunkwa near Assin Fosu. The suspect boarded the ‘Okada’ from Assin Adiembra to Assin South through Assin Fosu.
