A 12-year-old girl, Maame Yaa, met her untimely death when a building collapsed on her at Shama Junction in the Shama District of the Western Region. The sad incident occurred in the early hours of Wednesday, June 22, 2022, around 07:00 am.

There was a gridlock at the Takoradi-Agona-Tarkwah highway on Tuesday evening, June 21. This followed a flooding situation following a downpour in that part of the Western Region. The development has left thousands of commuters stranded with many seeking refuge in nearby schools and shelters to pass the night.

Residents of Gomoa Aprah near Buduburam in the Central Region are living in fear as a body of an unidentified man was discovered in a block factory. The victim, believed to be in his late 40s, was found naked from waist down and evident bruises on his head and other parts of his body.

A 6-year-old pupil of the Dream School at Sehwi Domeabra has burnt beyond recognition during a fire incident which consumed the entire school dormitory. Phyllis Afriyie, a KG 2 pupil was discovered burnt and deceased after fire officials extinguished the fire that had been blazing for several hours.

The Supreme Court has in a unanimous 9-0 decision affirmed its April 13 decision that granted an injunction against Assin North MP, James Gyakye Quayson. The court on April 13 restrained Mr Quayson from holding himself as a Member of Parliament for the constituency.

A protest by students of the Islamic Senior High School at Abrepo in the Ashanti Region turned tragic as police reportedly fired tear gas at them. Reports say not less than 30 of the students have been rushed to the hospital after they collapsed.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has led the country in a nationwide tree planting exercise under the Green Ghana Project. Speaking at a tree-planting ceremony at the Efua Sutherland Park in Accra to kick start the nationwide exercise, the President said the target, this year, is to plant twenty million (20,000,000) trees across the country in both Forest Reserves and off forest reserves.
