A rainstorm has wreaked havoc in the Obogu community in the Asante Akyem South District in the Ashanti Region. The storm lasted nearly three hours in the evening of Sunday, destroying homes, schools and electricity installations.

A 64-year-old farmer, Kwaku Obeng aka Joseph money, has allegedly killed his wife, Sophia Akosua Boahemaa at Anyemi near Jacobu in the Amansei Central District of the Ashanti Region. The suspect reportedly shot the wife aged 44 on Friday, killing her on the spot.

A 36-year-old pastor with Faith Christian Ministry has been arrested by the Kasoa Ofaakor District Police Command for allegedly defiling three teenagers. Information gathered by Adom News indicates Ebenezer Kuma’s victims are aged between 13 to 15 years.

The Upper East Regional Police Command has announced the arrest of 18 suspects in Bawku, following the recent disturbances in the area. A 40-year-old teacher, Kwesi Sasah, who allegedly beat his 38-year-old lover, Yaa Linda, to death over a bride price payment has been arrested. The suspect was arrested by the Apam District Police. The incident reportedly occurred on Friday at Gomoa Ankamu Ajumako in the Central Region, where the duo serve as teachers at the D/A primary school.

A final burial service has been held at the Appiatse Park in the Prestea-Huni Valley Municipal Assembly of the Western Region for six victims of the deadly gas explosion in Appiatse. The explosion on Thursday, January 20 left 13 lives lost and several others injured. Some of the victims identified have since been buried.
