The Comets started the season strong but have hit a winless skid since their last home game. A loss at Utica and an overtime loss at the Ambush have continued the struggles for Kansas City.

Erik and Thad discuss what went wrong so far in the season.

After the normal Blue Turf pod, Thad is joined by Kansas City Managing Partner and General Manager Brian Budzinski. He is generous with his time and Budzinski is asked a number of questions about the Comets. Some of the discussion is about what has went wrong, the historic nature of the winless streak, veterans needing to help the team get back on track, and is anyone on the hot seat.

Sporting KC is playing actual soccer games and we can finally focus on the team! We're talking about the draw against Charlotte, updates on Dany Rosero and Kayden Pierre, and whether or not we can expect a new signing soon.

Vermes indicated funds will be spent elsewhere on the field, rather than a new CAM, because they are sticking with Erik Thommy. David doesn't expect a new signing until the summer.

EA FC leaked most of the new kits to be released around MLS this year ahead of schedule. If true, the argyle is back for SKC.

The Current released their preseason roster and we break down line by line who is in camp, who might make the roster, and where. There are some potential, probable, and almost certain signings. Sporting KC listened to the fans (and probably the sponsors) and parted ways with Gavin Wilkinson just eight days after hiring him. We would love to just move on and forget about it, but reporting from The Athletic indicates another problem.

The lack of acknowledgement of the failures that led to GW being hired in the first place, make us worry the problem isn't entirely in the past.

Daniel Salloi opened up the scoring in 2024 with the first goal in a 4-1 win over FIU. Both Alan Pulido and Kayden Pierre were among those not available. Again.

The Comets are struggling at the moment after an overtime loss at home against Utica City FC and a pair of defeats in Monterrey. The Comets were seriously outplayed in the first half on Sunday but played better in the second. Tuesday the Comets took the lead over the Flash into halftime but could not stay focused as Monterrey took the win.

We discuss what went wrong and right, players and a keeper change for the second match. Another tough match left in the Mexico trip.
