Baby, it's SO COLD outside!!

Many Albertans in Canada have struggled with -40 - 50 temperatures for the past 3-4 days.

In this show, I chat about the HUGE impact weather can have on our lives and the lives of others. A shoutout and HEARTFELT THANKS to the men and women who, in their careers, bravely deal with brutal temperatures to help people struggling in some way.

Thinking of and immense gratitude to all the workers who go out when we can't: those who work hard to keep our roads safe, the police, paramedics, and firefighters, tow truck drivers, outside station attendants, delivery drivers, staff and volunteers working with the people experiencing homelessness, and many, many more people making a difference for others.

After a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng, seven-month break from the Keeping Real Podcast, I'm Back!! I'm excited to add two shows to the Keeping it Real podcast.

For the past two years, I have been recording 'Sunday Night with Glenda' every week for an online radio station. Super pumped to be celebrating 102 episodes of Sunday Night With Glenda AND 59 episodes of my second show, The Park in The County. This episode of the Keeping it Real podcast is about embracing our greatness and not letting the actions of negative people get us down.

Have you ever had an experience where you allowed a person of no real importance to you to have an extremely negative impact on you? Did you wonder why it affected you as it did? Did you attempt to ignore it or did you have a negative reaction/response?

I believe that there are times in our lives when we may be more vulnerable or that we might be experiencing a defeated mindset. Either way, I feel this when we may 'react' to someone's unkindness rather than choose to remain positive or even ignore the negative actions of the other person. These are the times that I remind myself that 'two negatives will never ever result in a positive'!

Some individuals are 'dream stealers.' You know, the people who put down our ideas or are negative about our hopes, dreams, or accomplishments. Words of wisdom for anyone like this that you may encounter: Distance yourself from their negativity!

Work on remaining positive and remember your truth. Always embrace your greatness and don't let the turkeys get you down.

I believe letting go of a past relationship,  our frustration or anger, can be one of the most challenging things we do. It seems that for some people, no matter how painful it is and how much suffering they go through, they don't want to give up the memories.  Memories are OK,  especially the good ones, but it's also important to remember that everything wasn't perfect.

I hope today's podcast will provide some tips that can help you to let go of a past relationship or circumstances that you have had no control over.

Standing up for ourselves requires courage, transparency, and authenticity. Staying true to oneself, no matter what others may feel or think. It can be easier to say than to actually do!

Do you feel confident when standing up for yourself? Are you assertive when you do? 

Are you someone that doesn't like conflict, therefore you'll do almost anything to avoid the situation?

Maybe you are feeling like no one really cares what you have to say or think?

Are you true to your own values and position on how you feel about something?

Develop enough courage so that you can stand up for yourself and then stand up for somebody else. ~ Maya Angelou ~
