Yes, designed with cheap parts, set lifespans, made to be unrepairable. There are lots of tricks to this trade.

Corporations design products to break and or fail on a schedule? It's not a conspiracy theory. (Mainstream news if you look.) It's always about making maximum MONEY!

No surprise to me, the government does nothing to protect its citizens. (Probably due to the typical cases of blackmail, bribery, and greed behind closed doors.)
