Kermode Uncut

Hail Caesar - the new Coen Bros film is out this week.

Here are my five favourites from their career.

Here is the second half of my annual film awards

including best actor, best actress and best film.

Here is the first half of my annual film awards made up

entirely of winners that have not even been nominated for the

Oscars.

Trainspotting is 20 years old this year and turned out

to be the film of a generation - here’s how I got it all wrong at the

time...

Spectre is just out on disc - I liked it a lot but my

favourite Bond remains a controversial choice...

A Bigger Splash is out this week - here is my pick of

Tilda Swinton’s best performances.

The Lobster is just out on DVD - a wonderfully strange

piece - I’m also a big fan of Yorgos Lanthimos’ earlier feature

Dogtooth...

Rams is an excellent Icelandic film out today. It

brought to mind Addicted To Sheep - a home-grown hit at the 2015

Sheffield Doc/Fest - they'd make a great double bill.

Mark picks out some of the responses to his recent posts

about anomalies in the awards categories.

Mark compares seeing three films first on TV, then in

the cinema and how each time it changed his opinion of the movie.
