Have you ever noticed how good chicken soup tastes when you’re sick? Usually we don’t want much to eat, but the hot broth soothes us inside and out. The natural elements do in fact help heal our bodies, and we can lie down to rest feeling nourished and content.

Psalm 23:5 says, “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”

God knows what we need and how much we need, and He’s never wrong. The One that created galaxies and distant stars and tiny blades of grass knows exactly what you need.

If you’re sick in spirit, call on the Lord. Just as Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, we can come to Him with our needs. He protects us, anoints us, and gives us the spiritual food we need. Just as the Psalmist wrote.

Maybe today, you are facing that thing you’ve dreaded. Just remember to call on Jesus and let Him feed your spirit. Tell Him your fears and concerns, and then close your eyes and rest.

Let His love overflow, over and around you.
