Reporter Alex Stone, ABC News for KFI, had the opportunity to walk in the shoes of an LA County Sheriffs Deputy. He spent a day going through encounters and scenarios law enforcement officers deal with on a daily basis. Alex got to play deputy and was put through life and death situations. It was very fascinating, he joined us today to tell us how it went.

LA County authorities have announced the arrest of a Texas man after DNA evidence connected him with the 1996 killing of a 17-year-old Boyle Heights girl. This morning LA County Sheriff Alex Villanueva held a news conference to discuss the arrest of 42-year-old Jose Luis Garcia. Garcia's victim, Gladys Arellano, was discovered in a ravine in Topanga Canyon and had been beaten, sexually assaulted, and strangled to death. It's a horrible story, but hopefully this brings some sense of closure to the victim's family. Steve Gregory was at this morning's press conference and has the story.
