William Smith, the beloved educator, TV maths and science teacher and conservationist, passed away at 85 in his Perth, Australia home, surrounded by his family.

Smith had recently been diagnosed with advanced, incurable cancer and succumbed to the illness.

Kfm Mornings remembers Smith with an interview that was flighted on Kfm Mornings with Darren, Sherlin and Sibs on the 6 May 2019, shortly after he received the National Order from the President for his significant contributions to teaching, making mathematics and science accessible to all students through the groundbreaking 'Learning Channel' TV program on SABC 2 in the 1990s.
