  • Scooby Doo or: How I Learned to Solve a Mystery

Rawg? Rhere? To kick off spooky season, the siblings are breaking down a staple favorite from their childhood, Scooby Doo (2002). In addition to the wonderful nostalgia that is the live-action film, the siblings also remark on how the execution of the story and characters are a beloved call-back to the formulaic children's cartoon we all know and love. Ross is bananas for the fashion and Carie is angered by the traditionally corny twist ending so appropriate for a film adapted from 54 year old IP that was able to connect generations.

  • Lady in the Water or: How I Learned M. Night Can Be Petty

Ross can't stop talking about the James Newton Howard soundtrack, Carie can't stop pointing out how little the plot makes sense, and the siblings both become enamored with how the movie's underlying message is to believe in things that make you feel like a kid again.

Who wants to start their Monday off with a little meta existential crisis? This week Carie puts a begrudging Ross through one of her favorite movies about writing, Stranger Than Fiction (2006). Carie remarks on the depth Will Ferrell can bring in a non-comedic performance, Ross struggles with the magical realism elements of the plot, and the siblings wonder who is writing the weird story of their silly little lives.
