Sorry for the late upload, y'all we had some ridiculous internet outage in our area today. This week the siblings dissect a never-before-seen classic of 90's comedy about three first wives who seek revenge against their ex-husbands after leaving them for younger women. Carie guffaws at the nervous energy from Diane Keaton's character, Ross can't ignore the disrespectful costuming of diva, Bette Midler, and the siblings remark on supporting women's rights AND women's wrongs.

Who's ready for a little true crime? This week the siblings are breaking down the fictionalization of the infamous Parker-Hulme murder case in 1950's Christchurch, New Zealand. Heavenly Creatures tells the story of Juliet Hulme and Pauline Parker, who together bludgeoned Parker's mother to death with a half brick in a stocking in order to avoid being separated. Ross gets eeked by the crazy-good acting of Melanie Lynskey and Kate Winslet, Carie can't get over the concept of matricide, and the siblings see the machinations of how two people can become so detached from reality. 

We're havin' a heat wave, ya'll! This week the siblings break down the film adaptation of Colin Clark's memoir, My Week With Marilyn (2011). Carie rolls her eyes over the fact that we can't have a Marilyn Monroe movie without the male gaze, Ross gets tickled by the sass of Sir Lawrence Olivier, and the siblings examine what it must have been like to be the most famous woman in the world. 

This probably should have been a two-parter y'all but we had no idea how much we were going to have to say about Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (1994). Carie makes her case throughout that Frankenstein is ultimately a love story, Ross reiterates over and over how beyond crazy the titular doctor becomes, and the siblings try not to dry heave over the romantic plotline involving a "brother and sister." 

This week the siblings break down one of Carie's emotional faves, Don Bluth's Thumbelina (1994). Ross gets irrationally upset about the unhelpful cast of animal characters in the journey. Carie swoons over "Let Me Be Your Wings." Most importantly however, Ross wants to make sure you know this isn't a love story but a human trafficking story. 

For our first episode of the new year, Carie and Ross break down one of Ross' favorite made-for-tv movies, The Rosa Parks Story. Ross provides a great deal of historical context regarding Jim Crow and the laws that segregated Black people from Whites, Carie gets incensed over never hearing the name Claudette Colvin in school, and the siblings remark on how Angela Bassett patently refuses to age.

For the final episode of 2022, the siblings break down part two of their coverage of Tom Hoopers's movie musical, Les Miserables. In this emotional conclusion, Carie thirsts over student revolutionaries, Ross provides a great deal of history regarding the shift of French power in the 1830's, and the sbilngs get a taste in their mouth for what it means to be truly Wretched.

This week, Ross is confronted with his boyfriend, Tom Hooper's greatest achievement, the film adaptation of the famous stage musical, Les Miserables (2012). Ross provides context for the political climate in France at the time, Carie sobs over the fall of Fantine, and the siblings remember their own time at Notre Dame Cathedral.

This week, another kid who's too smart for his own good once again takes down a team of adult criminals in the John Hughes threequel, Home Alone 3 (1997). Ross defends his love of the threequel over Home Alone 2. Carie praises the conceit of the chase for a computer ship designed for the United States Air Force, and the siblings get their regular holiday montage of grown adults wrecking themselves in a series of comedic stunts.
