KIFARUCAST

Aron welcomes good friend Mike Herne back to the podcast.  Mike has had a pretty epic year thus far with his Colorado Elk Hunt and film "The Buzzer Bull", and fresh off his Mountain Goat Hunt.  Not to mention he has some pretty big news career wise as well.  Great time having our good buddy on again!  

Aron is back and he welcomes Eric Griggs to the podcast.  Eric is an accomplished tournament archer and founder of GAS Bowstrings.  They are a deep dive into everything bowstrings.  From process to material, they leave no stone unturned.  Great listen and some incredible information.

While Aron is out of the office still, chasing majestic wild creatures, we got great buddy Mike Herne to fill in as host for this episode.  And he has the great Cody Covey on the line, to talk about their most recent adventure in the elk woods.  Great talk between these two once again!  Be sure to be on the lookout for the upcoming Kifaru Film from this hunt as well!  Our very own Isaac Smith was along for the ride, documenting the journey.  

This is one for the books!  Also recorded earlier this spring, we thought about re-recording it in person, but it was far too entertaining to let it sit on the shelf.

Special Episode we recorded earlier this summer with Bill Thompson from Spartan Forge.  Going over the app and all its features, Aron and Bill discuss some of the benefits to learning and using Spartan Forge and how it benefits folks in the elk mountains to the whitetail woods.  Podcast Video will be available on Spartan Forge's YouTube channel.

We are excited to welcome semi professional comedian, amateur tattoo artist, guide extraordinaire, and super friend Ryan Routier to the podcast.  Ok maybe not the tattoo artist part, but im sure he'd do fine!  Ryan owns and operates Routier Outfitting in South Dakota.  Aron has ventured up there on several occasions, which has resulted in some pretty epic stories, which Ryan is not afraid to share with us!  With some of the best Antelope Hunting South Dakota has to offer, and plenty of fantastic mule deer too, this has been one of Aron's favorite places to hunt. And Ryan knows a thing or two about a thing or two, which makes him a wealth of knowledge to boot!  Kifaru is excited to bring the Kifaru University experience to South Dakota as well, giving listeners the opportunity to attend a stalking and land nav course up at Ryans. More details coming in the future about that!  These two old friends have a great time recalling hunt stories and talking about the future courses.

Aron welcomes Super Bowl Champion Derek Wolfe to the KifaruCast Studio. He and Aron sit down in studio to go over the total cluster that is Colorado lately, with the introduction of wolves, the potential ban on lion hunting, and everything else that hunters and outdoorsmen are facing. Photographer and Videographer Lane Walters also chimes in behind the scenes as a long time Colorado resident. They also dive into Derek's upcoming mountain goat hunt with Aron up in British Columbia and the training Derek is putting into preparation for this hunt. And then we take a more serious turn and discuss some of the lingering effects of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, or CTE, which is a progressive degenerative disease affecting people who have suffered repeated concussions and traumatic brain injuries. Both Aron and Derek have had their fair share of injuries and they discuss some of their darker days when dealing with CTE. Great talk between these two and was awesome having Derek and Lane in the studio!

We are excited to welcome Dusty Burson to the podcast this week.  He is the Division Manager of the Dixie Creek Division of the 6666 Ranch.  Aron has been helping Dusty with some hunting, archery,  and expand his knowledge of the bow and arrow. In exchange for Dusty schooling Aron up on ranching, horses, and all things cowboy.  Dusty is a wealth of knowledge when it comes all things cowboy, and provides a ton of insight into that way of life.  Great talk with a great person!  Awesome having Dusty on the show!
