The Joe Cool Murders:
This week's drink inspired Jackie to choose a maritime-themed murder. It involves two men, Guillermo Zarabozo and Kirby Archer, who charted the Joe Cool for a roundtrip voyage from Miami to the Bahamas. The crew consisted of a young married couple, the husband's half-brother, and close friend. Unfortunately, the 'Joe Cool' never made it back to Miami. A search party found the vessel completely empty and covered in blood. Zarabozo and Archer were later found floating adrift in a lifeboat. They claimed to be the sole survivors of a pirate attack, but the ballistic evidence said otherwise.
The Investor Murders in Craig, Alaska:
Dreya followed suit with the nautical theme but chose instead to cover Alaska's worst unsolved mass homicide. It took place aboard the 'Investor', a fishing charter owned by a young entrepreneurial couple. They docked in Craig, Alaska after a long day of fishing with their two children and four young deckhands. Witnesses didn't notice anything out of the ordinary when the ship left port the next morning, but the vessel was found shortly thereafter engulfed in flames and riddled with bullets. There were no survivors.
