Killer Stories

This week I am covering the case of Helle Crafts. A flight attendant who was murdered by her pilot husband, Richard Crafts. He disposed of her body using a wood chipper, inspiring the ending in one of my favorite movies- Fargo.

This week I'm covering religious cult leader Rev. Jim Jones, The People's Temple and the massacre that occurred in Jonestown Guyana.

Jim Jones led his followers to what he called a revolutionary suicide. But was it suicide? Or murder?

This episode is to spotlight one of my favorite podcasts, Once Upon a Nightmare. I was recently on the show with host , Lorraine Purdon, to discuss the 2006 film, KARLA.

KARLA was directed by Joel Bender.
Between the years of 1990 and 1992 Paul Bernardo aka The Scarborough Rapist and Karla Homolka aka The Witch of Ontario would rape, murder and torture many young women. Together they would be known as The Ken and Barbie Killers.

This week I'm discussing Mark Twtichell, the Dexter Copycat Killer. He blurred the lines of reality and cinematic fantasy. Believing he was ridding the world of "negative people" like fictional serial killer Dexter Morgan, he lured in 2 unsuspecting men to his garage suite where they became part of his live action thriller film.

Victims:
Gilles Tetreault (survivor)
Johnny Altinger

“The single worst crime perpetrated against an individual in Indiana's history".
-Deputy Prosecutor Leroy New
Gertrudę Baniszewski was to watch 16 year old Sylvia Likens and 15 year old Jenny Likens in addition to her 7 children for $20/week. When payments came late she started taking it out on the Likens girls. The abuse escalated but was focused primarily on Sylvia.
Within 3 months of moving in, Sylvia was dead.
