Killer Stories

This week I'm covering Lonnie Franklin Jr. AKA - The Grim Sleeper.
He was given this nickname due to his 14 year break between killing sprees in Los Angeles, CA. Many believe his number of victims could be in the hundreds, but we will never know because he denied involvement until the day he died.

This week I'm discussing the case of Timothy Spencer, better known as the Southside Strangler. During the mid 80's, Spencer went on a killing spree in Virginia. An innocent man went to prison for Tim's first murder. The up and coming forensic science known as DNA "fingerprinting" was used to free David Vasquez and put Timothy Spencer in the electric chair.

The disappearance of this van life vlogger took the media by storm in August of 2021. Gabby Petito went on a cross country road trip with her fiancé Brian Laundrie. Brian arrived back to Florida.... alone. He lawyered up and didn't speak a word about Gabby or where she was.

This week I'm discussing The Chicago Tylenol Murders. In 1982, a string of deaths were linked to capsules of Extra Strength Tylenol that had been tampered with. This event changed the way we consume medicine and the "tamper proof" packaging of everyday items.

This week's episode is covering the murder of Dru Sjodin, committed by serial rapist Alfonso Rodriguez, Jr. He was considered a level 3 sex offender (meaning likely to re-offend). Yet no one knew of his threat to society because in 2003, there was no sex offender database in North Dakota. WHY?
