Kinda Famous Podcast

Episode 46 we are talking the 2018 Grammys on Jan 28 on CBS and I get with friends of the show Rolls Royce of Wichitas Power 93.5 radio and Samuel David aka Big Sam to discuss. From Album of the year which seems to have been taken over by the urban market of music to the Grammy family acceptance of Cardi B. We discuss those topics as well as Drakes omission from nomination, Eminem's new album, and some of the impacts from 2017. We talked so much that I had to break it up into a two-part episode because we even get into the weeds of other music topics as well as the local Wichita Music Scene.  Check it out Share Subscribe press the buttons tell a friend and check the Facebook page ( https://facebook.com/kindafamouspod ) to tell us who you think will win what!

This weeks episode we are happy to have friends of aRowe Films and a trio of filmmakers known as Americas Front Porch Film Co. consisting of Nate Jones, Gina Bryant, and Roy Nugen. This three has made some of the most entertaining short films I have seen with a hint of styling reminiscent of Edgar Wright. They have a knack for dark comedy as seen in their film Bag Full of Trouble and their newest short Potboiler. We talk about how they came up together in this filmmaking industry and jump into a few topics such as women in films, some out favorite films, working the film festival circuit, and why Gina hasn't watched some of the greatest films of a generation. I really enjoyed this and talking film along with being at Wichita's own R Coffeehouse with great live music as a soundtrack to the episode. Check it out share and tell a friend and hit one of those great links below!

We are back! So its been a busy couple of weeks along with a sick couple of weeks and so much has happened but as well I have done a crap tone of recording. I am trying to decide what to do for the next few weeks going into the holiday because 2018 we are going bigger than we have been withthe network. This case took the internet by storm. Cyntoia Brown became viral through celebrities such as Rhianna and Kim Kardashian as they shared a meme that talked about Cyntoia with what I see now to be very misleading and inaccurate information. Nonetheless, I started the journey to know more about this case and it's still very heartbreaking and raw. I Have a friend from Philly who works in the public sector to talk about this and to protect her we are calling her Hilary only. As well we get into the social complexities of the Meek Mill situation and as well as briefly talk about what is needed in the world of social services .. It is mentioned in the show about additional content that was going to be added to this episode. That content will be added later to another episode of IKF. Enjoy tell a friend, share, and subscribe!

So its not that it has been a while but I have been battling some Mental Health Issues on top of trying to rework some things that have to do with building the network. This episode was late because of some listing issues but we got it sorted out and should be good. This episode we talked about those things that go with this depressed state that I am in and talk about some coming up shows. But the thing is I still was not really feeling it so I tapped my close homie and we had a recorded conversation and used it to clear up the rest of the show. We talked some of the sexual assault allegations, politics, society, and some passionate filmmaking type of talk. Enjoy and as always tell a friend share to subscribe to the network and if you are in need of help dealing with mental health issues such as depression feel free to hit me up on the email.

Are you tired of talking about Colin Kaepernick? Me too! But wait there's more... This is it! The last time I bring up this topic until something substantial happens in the NFL or in CK football life.  To close it out I invited the Sports Columnist of The Dallas Weekly Lewis Flanagan III on to talk about how we got here and the state of affairs of protest within the league. We talk about Waka Flocka comments about his identity, Houston Texans protest against their owner, Jerry Jones owner of the Dallas Cowboys, and yes Colin Kaepernick. We dig deep below the surface. Is the protest working, was it real or for self-gain, is the messaging correct, and many other facets of this topic. It is a good one and we also talk about the ever-growing sport in the black community Lacrosse in which Lewis is both a fan and coach of. We had so much to talk about and didn't hit everything but no holds barred we go for it for the culture.Don't Miss this Episode.

If you do not share or like any episode, I hope this is one you do because it was very needed and one that has so many textures and layers to it but stays inciteful on the content of a narrative that has been destroyed through the lack of understanding. Check it out tell a friend and join the conversation!
