In this episode I am going back to an event that took place in my hometown of Billings, MT. in December of 1993.
The town had come under attack (ok, not the whole town, just the Jewish and Gay residents) by a group of the Ku Klux Klan and some skinheads. Harassment turned to violence before a group of citizens stood up to say, "No more!"
In todays news we see certain groups who are being threatened and harassed. Would we, as their neighbors and friends stand up and say, "No more!"? My hope is that we would.
Here's a film about the incident.
As our population ages, facilities that normally care for seniors are struggling with keeping enough staff to care for those that need it. In this episode I speak with Deb Holtz. Deb has been around the senior care industry for many, many years and shares some of her insight into the nature of the crisis and possible solutions.

In this episode I just wanted to update everyone on my summer so far. It's been busy! In late may or early June I published my first book; Big Skies and Big Dreams A Practical Guide to Living Your Happiest Life. It's basically a happiness DIY. How to create, for yourself, a happier state of being. It was an amazing experience for a guy who doesn't even like journaling much less writing a book. I hope you'll check it out and let me know what you think.

Many of you are in on the joke about the name of this show. Pork Pond is the nickname of the real city I live in which is Ham Lake, Minnesota (population 17,230). Being a small town there are a lot of us who are not nationally famous (ok, the vast majority of u aren't). That said, one of our own is recognizable for those that enjoy comedy in this country and that is, Andy Erikson. Perhaps you saw her on Last Comic Standing in 2015 where, against all odds. she placed in the top five. Perhaps you remember her performance on the Ryan Murphy produced T.V show Scream Queens. In either case you likely remembered her. In this episode I get the distinct honor of speaking with Andy about growing up in Ham Lake, discovering her comedic genius and her career. We also talk about being funny in the age of COVID, her Marfan Syndrome diagnosis and the best heckle she ever had. I hope you enjoy this episode.

So many times we glamorize life events, don't we? Such is often the case with childbirth. Some new parents simply thrive as a new parent while others do not, for various reasons. And those that don't feel as though there is something wrong with them or their child. That's where Leann Latus of Tender Transitions Sleep Coaching comes in. In this episode we speak with Leann about how she came to this much-needed coaching niche; her struggles to find a fulfilling line of work and subsequent struggles with being a new parent that led her to become one of the prominent sleep coaches. It's an amazing conversation and Leann is so open. I am sure that you will enjoy it.

In this episode I have the distinct honor of speaking with Megan Wilcox. Megan was, by her own admission addicted to gaming, more accurately MMO games. Once she figured out how to get help, she decided to help others break the game. This is her story; the story of how she became a Life Coach specializing in Video Game addiction and helped many, many people find a healthy balance between a relaxing game and completely taking over their lives.
