He has a secret identity, an alter ego of sorts. 

And, he's  rather like a theological super hero. 

No kidding.

Known only as the "Redeemed Zoomer", he's working to redeem mainline protestant churches from the inside, using Youtube and Minecraft as his primary tools.  For the time being, he's not revealing his identity but instead is known only as his screen name, his Youtube handle.  But with one of his videos having garnered over 7 million views, it's clear that his message is resonating with a very large and diverse audience around the world.  Using Minecraft play as the visual that draws younger viewers in, as he plays the game, he explains Biblical worldview, Kingdom culture. and Biblical orthodoxy.  In the process, he's inviting a younger generation of Christ followers not to leave the traditional, mainline denominations but to lay hold of the authority of God's word and begin working to redeem them.

By the way, he's only twenty-years-old.  Wow.  This is going to be a very interesting episode of Kingdom Culture Conversations!

"Please stop listening to this podcast!"  It's an odd statement to make within an episode in which we're celebrating two years of podcasting. 

It's an especially odd statement to make if we're trying to grow our audience.

But, here's the thing.  We're not trying to grow our audience.  At least not in the sense of numbers.  Rather, the audience growth we're most interested in is growth in Biblical worldview.

When KCC started, it grew out of the deeply profound questions that students at Northwest Christian School (in Phoenix, Arizona) were asking during the pandemic relating to a culture in freefall.  In the process, we've amassed an audience that has grown beyond what we imagined.  And, while we're blessed that folks are listening and hopeful that our conversations and guests are helping to illuminate Biblical worldview and cultural issues, we're also hopeful that you, the listening audience, are truly getting what you came for! 

As a result, in today's Kingdom Culture Conversation, as we celebrate two years of podcasting, your hosts--Chris "G" Gardiner and Geoff Brown--talk through podcasts that are better than this one and which very well might do a better job of communicating Biblical worldview.

It's been 55 years since Stanley Kubrick prophetically took Arthur C. Clarke's visionary  tale of machine evolutionary development gone awry--"2001:  A Space Odyssey"--and turned it into a masterclass on dystopia.  Yet, somehow, culture has just recently been surprised to see that ChatGPT reached a million users at a pace that blew past Netflix, Youtube, or Spotify.

In today's Kingdom Culture Conversation, we discuss the impact of Artificial Intelligence on culture through the lens of Biblical worldview.  But, we dial in, specifically, to the impact of AI on education and the classroom.  Is it a learning help or hindrance?  Allison Van Liew, Northwest Christian's Instructional Technology Coordinator, brings us up to speed on AI, discusses risks and opportunities, and gives a glimpse into the strategies that the school is using in its approach to AI.

Arizona native and mother of five, Jenny Clark knows full well the unique variations in how children learn.

They thrive in a variety of different educational environments.

And, for several years now, across the state and nation,  as the founder of "Love Your School" and a member of the Arizona state board of education, Jenny's been working to make that case.

Jenny grew up in Arizona, attended her local district school from K-12, and then continued on to the University of Arizona and received a BSBA in Business Economics. Today, she utilizes a variety of schooling options for her own family, and loves sharing with other families about their options and helping them find the right fit for their kids!

When Paul and Lizzie Reed heard the Great Commission's objective to reach "the uttermost parts of the earth", they took that quite literally, taking Christian education to Russia.

Christian education in Russia?  Yes.

And, beyond that, as a product of working within Russia, they were on hand to experience the Russian invasion of Ukraine, an event which precipitated their near-immediate evacuation.

Now, after spending a year in the US on furlough, the Reeds are preparing for their next great adventure:  Budapest.

Church planting is hard, hard work.  But, church planting is the future of the American church...for various and established reasons...

1. Less than 18% of Americans attend church.  This translates to the fact that there are 156 million unchurched individuals in the United States.

2.  47% of America’s unchurched report that they would be open to going to church if they were invited by a friend.

3.  A new church plant gains 60-80% of its eventual membership from unchurched individuals making first-time commitments to Christ.

4.  Churches that employ church planting strategies grow three times faster than those that do not have planting vested within their strategic plan.

Each of these numbers point to a proven fact, if the culture is ever going to find its way to a Biblical worldview, it will happen through the tireless efforts of church planters.

Aryan and Alison are inspiring, funny, and very congenial.  And, they are courageous church planters.  The aptly named "His Church" launched in February 2023 and, as you'll learn today, Aryan and Alison have taken their entire testimony--trials, tragedy, and ultimately triumph--and turned it into a growing ministry.

The blatant message of our misguided culture is, "This life is all about you."  And, if that is a student's only frame of reference,  the student's learning and growing is indelibly twisted into one in which academic aspirations become rooted in the self-serving pursuits of affluence and influence.

Statistically speaking, 66% of high school graduates immediately launch into university.  But, since Covid, that number has been dropping.

Should we be alarmed?  Maybe not.  Maybe we have reason to hope that the culture is changing.

In today's Kingdom Culture Conversation, we're going to hear from three of Northwest Christian's strongest Class of 2023 graduates.  As you will hear today, all three are remarkably poised, articulate, and vested with vast potential.

And, all three have set aside their university aspirations for at least a year.  Drop-outs?  Failure to launch?  Not exactly!  Today, enjoy an episode that will remind you that there is hope for the next generation of believers!
