Grace. We throw that word around a lot, but have we really stopped to consider its irresistible beauty? In John 10:11-15 we continue in our teaching series, Amazing Grace: What’s So Great About the Doctrines of Grace?

We take a dive into the deeper theological waters and unpack the doctrine of “definite atonement,” learning what exactly it is that Jesus came to accomplish on the cross and how that changes everything for us today.

Last week we began our new teaching series through the doctrines of grace. We established that we are all born as rebels without a cause (so to speak) with a very real and desperate need for God’s grace.

So how does one receive this undeserved yet desperately needed grace? In Ephesians 1:3-12 we press into the Scriptures to look at the doctrine of “unconditional election.” We talk about where we see it throughout the Bible, why it’s so easily misunderstood, and how it amplifies what’s so amazing about the grace of God in Jesus Christ.

Grace. It’s irresistible. It’s inexhaustible. It’s *amazing*. We begin “Amazing Grace,” our new teaching series through what’s commonly known as the reformed doctrines of grace. We’ll walk through the Bible’s storyline and gaze at the wonderful grace of God from five different angles.

Let’s consider afresh what makes His grace so different, so irresistible, and so amazing.

What does a first century thank you note have to do with the church today? In Philippians 4:14-23 we conclude our teaching series through the great book of Philippians, an ancient thank you letter from an apostle to a church he loves. In many ways, the apostle Paul comes full circle in his letter’s conclusion, giving thanks and appreciation for this local church, their partnership in the gospel, and the great things God will continue to do through them.

Why do we never seem satisfied? Why is it so hard to be content? Why does it seem like it’s never enough—whatever “it” is? In Philippians 4:10-13 we enter the closing remarks in the great letter to the Philippians. We learn what Paul calls the “secret” of contentment along with the true meaning of that often-misused and famous verse “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.”

Conflict is normative. All of us experience it, but hardly any of us know how to deal with it. What do we do when there’s conflict amongst believers in Christ? In Philippians 4:1-3 we consider the why and the how of resolving conflict in a way that is loving, holy, and gospel-centered.

From the earliest age we learn how to pattern our lives after others and follow their example (for better or for worse). In Philippians 3:17-4:1, Paul unpacks this concept that is so wired into us, and offers a word on what it has to do with discipleship and following Jesus today.

What does it mean to be spiritually mature? In this week's sermon, we look at Philippians 3:12-16. Using the metaphor of a race, the apostle Paul gives some real talk about why following Jesus is sometimes hard and what it looks like to run the race toward true spiritual maturity in Christ.⠀
