In this week's teaching, we walk through Psalm 110, the most quoted psalm in the New Testament.

Our hearts and minds are filled with the noise of self-talk that turns us away from God and focuses too much on ourselves. In Psalm 131, the Psalmist lifts His eyes to the Lord in order to understand himself more truly, and in the calm and quiet of the soul, he experiences great hope in the greatness of God.

In this week's text, we take a look at Psalm 1 and what it means to delight in the law of the Lord.

In Philippians 2:19-30 Paul commends two friends worthy of honor: Timothy, his son in the faith, and Epaphroditus, a member from the church at Philippi. Paul shows us what it looks like to honor the ordinary faithful people who are making a difference for the kingdom.

We work our way through Philippians 2:12-18 on the deep joy there is to be had in holiness.

What is the mind of Christ like? In Philippians 2:5-11 we look at the only place in the scriptures that explicitly engages this question. If the Bible was a mountain range, this text would be one of the highest peaks. It gives us a complete picture of who Jesus is, why He chose to come, and what that means for our everyday relationships.

What does it look like for a church to be “worthy of the gospel” as Paul puts it? In Philippians 1:27-2:4 we come to one of the main reasons Paul wrote his letter to the church in Philippi—their unity in the gospel. Paul encourages them to stand together in the face of opposition and serve one another with deep compassion.

Death is one thing we all have in common. As pervasive as it is, we are still all unsettled by it. There’s something in us that knows it’s not right. Why then can the apostle Paul claim that “to live is Christ; to die is gain”? What gain could we possibly get and how does that shape what it means to truly live? In Philippians 1:19-26 we find answers to these important questions.

Why do bad things happen to good people? And how does an apostle like Paul deal with adversity in his own life and ministry? While writing his letter to the Philippians, Paul sits in prison chains, suffering for his ministry. In Philippians 1:12-18 we walk through and learn from Paul on finding joy in adversity.

When it comes to love, Paul does not settle with the status quo. This is why he prays that the Philippian church would abound in love. In Phil 1:9-11 we learn about what abounding love looks like and how it relates to the joy of spiritual growth.
