A Bible Baptist is one who believes in a supernatural Bible, which tells of a supernatural Christ, Who had a supernatural birth, Who spoke supernatural words, Who performed supernatural miracles, Who lived a supernatural life, Who died a supernatural death, Who rose in supernatural splendor, and Who will one day return in supernatural glory to establish a supernatural kingdom on earth.

What BBBC believes about Creation: “We believe in the Genesis account of creation, and that it is to be accepted literally, and not allegorically or figuratively; that man was created directly in God’s own image and after His own likeness; that man’s creation was not a matter of evolution or evolutionary change of species or development through interminable periods of time from lower to higher forms; and that all animal and vegetable life was made directly and God’s established law was that they should bring forth only “after their kind.”

What BBBC believes about Salvation: “We believe in God’s electing grace; that the blessings of salvation are made free to all by the gospel; that it is the immediate duty of all to accept them by a cordial, penitent and an obedient faith; and nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner on earth but his own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the gospel; which rejection involves him in an aggravated condemnation.  We believe in salvation by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on Calvary plus nothing.  Therefore, we do not believe that works are necessary for salvation, although once a person is saved, he should be careful to maintain good works.”

What BBBC believes about Repentance and Faith: “We believe that Repentance and Faith are solemn obligations, and also inseparable graces, wrought in our souls by the quickening Spirit of God, thereby; being deeply convicted of our guilt, danger, helplessness, and of the way of salvation by Christ, we turn to God with unfeigned contrition, confession, and supplication for mercy; at the same time heartily receiving the Lord Jesus Christ and openly confessing Him as our only and all-sufficient Savior.”

An episode from Berean Baptist Church, an independent body of King James Bible believers located in Springfield Missouri.

We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the verbally and plenary inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and therefore are the final authority for faith and life. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the complete and divine revelation of God to Man. The Scriptures shall be interpreted according to their normal grammatical-historical meaning. We believe that God’s Word has been divinely preserved in the English language and commonly known as the Authorized King James Version. Therefore, the Authorized King James Version shall be the official and only translation used by the church. (II Timothy 3:16-17; II Peter 1:20-21).

We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin the human race fell, inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God; and, that man is totally depraved, and of himself, utterly unable to remedy his lost condition (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:22-23, 5:12, 6:23; Ephesians 2:1-3, 4:17-19).

We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins (John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10; I Peter 1:18-19). 

We believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ forever (John 6:37-40; 10:27-30; Romans 8:1, 38-39; I Cor.1: 4-8; I Peter 1:4-5).

We believe that it is the privilege of believers to rejoice in the assurance of their salvation through the testimony of God's Word, which, however clearly forbids the use of Christian liberty as an occasion to the flesh (Romans 13:13-14; Galatians 5:13; Titus 2:11-15).

We believe in that “blessed hope,” the personal, imminent return of Christ who will rapture all believers prior to the seven-year tribulation period. At the end of the Tribulation, Christ will personally and visibly return with His saints, to establish His earthly Messianic Kingdom, which was promised to the nation of Israel (Psalm 89:3-4; Daniel 2:31-45; Zechariah 14:4-11; I Thessalonians 1:10, 4:13-18; Titus 2:13; Revelation 3:10, 19:11-16, 20:1-6).

The Berean Baptist Church Statement of Faith does not exhaust the extent of our faith. The Bible itself is the sole and final authority of all that we believe. We do believe, however, that this statement of faith accurately represents the teaching of the Bible.

What ERBC believes about the Scriptures: “We believe that the scriptures of both Old and New Testament are verbally inspired of God, that they are the supreme and final authority for faith and practice, and are preserved in the Authorized Version (KJV 1611) of the Bible. 2 Timothy 3:16. Psalm 12:6-7."

What ERBC believes about God: “We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. That God is supreme in His person, absolute in His attributes, glorious in His perfection, and eternal in His being. 1 John 5:7."

What ERBC believes about Jesus: “We believe in the Deity of Jesus Christ. His conception by the Holy Spirit, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His death on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins, His bodily resurrection, His exaltation at God's right hand, and His personal imminent, pre-millennial, and pre-tribulation return. Ephesians 1:7. ”

What ERBC believes about man: “We believe that God created man in His image and likeness (a triune being: spirit, soul, and body) in a state of innocence's, but through temptation, he willingly transgressed, became dead in trespasses and sins. As a result, his posterity (all men) inherited a corrupt nature, are born in sin, and are under condemnation. Romans 5:12.”

What Cornerstone Baptist Church believes:

The Bible says in 1 Peter 4:11, “If any man speak, let him speak as of the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”

Our heart’s desire is that God may be glorified in all things as we seek to minister to others.

Cornerstone Baptist Church was started in 1991 by a group of people who wanted a church where the Bible was the final authority, not tradition or denomination. Since that time, God has blessed the effort of that initial group and the vision has been broadened and refined as the years have passed.

As we have sought the leadership of the Holy Spirt and with a desire to “seek the old paths”. There are a few ministries which seem to be the “earmarks” of our church. First would be Bible preaching and teaching, in order to “perfect he saints”. We have also seen a great response to the challenge of World Missions as we continue to support more missionaries each year. One of our goals is to minister to the entire family and emphasize the importance of Bible based homes. This of course leads to a lot of training for the youth, and a particular emphasis on character. With these areas of emphasis, we also strive to exercise grace and allow the saints room and time to grow in the Lord. Christianity is not a Sunday religion It is not a performance. It is a relationship with Jesus Christ which matures with time and effort.

Cornerstone Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental, mission-minded Baptist church that holds to the following:

• Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone
• The King James Bible as the preserved word of God & our final authority
• The virgin birth of Jesus Christ
• The deity of Jesus Christ
• The pre-millennial return of Christ to this earth  
• The eternal security of ever true born-again believer
• The gospel as the death, burial & resurrection of Jesus Christ
• We resist the contemporary music & mega-church philosophy

Our first meeting was in a tent in 1991. We organized as a church in October of that year and have witnessed the merciful hand of God through these years as we have grown in Christ through old fashioned preaching, praying, singing and genuine concern for the saved and the lost alike.

The Scriptures : We believe that “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” 2nd Timothy 3:16 by which we understand that the whole Bible “came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” 2nd Peter 1:21.  The Scriptures, originally recorded by Spirit led men, have been faithfully translated and preserved in our English Language.  We believe the Authorized Version (A.V. 1611) is infallible and selfless: our final authority for all matters of faith and practice.

Christ’s Advent: We believe that the eternal Son of God came into this world that He might manifest God to men, fulfill prophecy, and become the Redeemer of a lost world. He was born of a virgin, conceived by the Holy Ghost, received a human body, and a sinless nature.

Salvation: We believe that, owing to death through sin, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless born again. This redemption has been accomplished solely by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, who was made to be sin, dying in our stead, and that He was bodily and physically raised from the dead for our justification. We believe that the new birth of the believer is an act of the Holy Ghost and comes only through individual faith in Christ.

The Church: We believe that God has ordained that through the local church the Gospel of Jesus Christ is to be spread and that it is the duty of everyone who is born again to seek out a local fellowship for the furtherance of the Gospel and his own edification.

I spent half of my life in and out of jails, prisons, rehabs, and other facilities.  Unfortunately, the programs that were offered did not help me to become a productive member of society, it just made me a better inmate.  Whatchanged me, was a new life in Jesus Christ and reading/studying a King James Bible.

Many prisons, jails, and other institutions have heard from many of their inmates that they are changed due to religion. 

However, most are seen back within the next year or two. As God gave Moses a burden for the Children of Israel, so God gave me a burden for those in jails and prisons. Churches send missionaries to foreign countries, in support, hopes and prayers, they can win the nationals to Jesus, train them and then send the nationals back to their own people. This is what Jesus has done for me. He saved me out of this life of crimes and addiction, and now sends me back to my people who are in jails/prisons, to win them to Christ and send them back to their own people

This is where Liberty Behind Bars Ministry steps in.  Not only do we minister to those behind the jail walls we help them transition into society; differently than they did in the past.  The goal is to break the cycle of recidicism and help people have a changed life in Jesus Christ.  I have my Doctorate in Christian Biblical Counseling and use this knowledge to not only help those within the jail/prison walls, but also to support their family members.

What QBBC believes about the Holy Bible: That both verbal and plenary inspiration applies to the Scriptures known as the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament Canon.  That is, that God literally breathed His words and that every part of the Scriptures is the Word of God.  2 Timothy 3:16. The King James Bible is superior to any other version available and is the final authority in all matters. Exodus 24:3; Deuteronomy 6:6-9; 29:29; Joshua 1:8; Job 23:12; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; James 1:22.

The extent to which the blessing of the Lord abides upon a church and the effectiveness of a church in the aforementioned areas depends upon its understanding of and obedience to the words of God. A collection of individuals, each living in accord with their opinions or religious notions, can accomplish little for Christ. A gathering of men and women who have a like-minded faith in a foundational set of Biblical truths can do great things for the Lord.

A Bible Baptist is one who believes in a supernatural Bible, which tells of a supernatural Christ, Who had a supernatural birth, Who spoke supernatural words, Who performed supernatural miracles, Who lived a supernatural life, Who died a supernatural death, Who rose in supernatural splendor, and Who will one day return in supernatural glory to establish a supernatural kingdom on earth.

What BBBC believes about Creation: “We believe in the Genesis account of creation, and that it is to be accepted literally, and not allegorically or figuratively; that man was created directly in God’s own image and after His own likeness; that man’s creation was not a matter of evolution or evolutionary change of species or development through interminable periods of time from lower to higher forms; and that all animal and vegetable life was made directly and God’s established law was that they should bring forth only “after their kind.”

What BBBC believes about Salvation: “We believe in God’s electing grace; that the blessings of salvation are made free to all by the gospel; that it is the immediate duty of all to accept them by a cordial, penitent and an obedient faith; and nothing prevents the salvation of the greatest sinner on earth but his own inherent depravity and voluntary rejection of the gospel; which rejection involves him in an aggravated condemnation.  We believe in salvation by grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ on Calvary plus nothing.  Therefore, we do not believe that works are necessary for salvation, although once a person is saved, he should be careful to maintain good works.”

What BBBC believes about Repentance and Faith: “We believe that Repentance and Faith are solemn obligations, and also inseparable graces, wrought in our souls by the quickening Spirit of God, thereby; being deeply convicted of our guilt, danger, helplessness, and of the way of salvation by Christ, we turn to God with unfeigned contrition, confession, and supplication for mercy; at the same time heartily receiving the Lord Jesus Christ and openly confessing Him as our only and all-sufficient Savior.”
