As a rule, Man's a fool

When it's hot, He wants it cool.

And when it"s cool, He wants it hot,

Always wanting What is not.

There is only one thing that brings joy and contentment in life. The answer is a relationship with God through Jesus. In Christ there is great gain in godliness with contentment 1 Tim 6:6

Godfrey Davis, who wrote a biography about the Duke of Willington, said, "I found an old account ledger that showed how the Duke spent his money. It was a far better clue to what he thought was really important than the reading of his letters or speeches.' How we handle money reveals much about the depth of our commitment to Christ. That's why Jesus often talked about money. One-sixth of the gospels, including one out of every three parables, touches on stewardship. Jesus wasn't a fundraiser. He dealt with money matters because money matters. For some of us, though, it matters too much. Matthew 6v21 ‘where your treasure is there your heart is also.

Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Don't be a religious fool!

Ambition, work, riches, friendship and leadership are not wrong, but they can become your god leading to idolatry and increasing sinfulness.

God is in control of all creation, all of this world and all of our life. Throughout the seasons of live we can trust God for everything and ought to enjoy God.

From the moment we are born we search for satisfaction, meaning and a Saviour. Solomon tells of his search and how he tried comedy, wine, culture, parties, entertainment, sex, fame, etc. only to discover they were all meaningless. The problem with his life and our life is sin. We need a Saviour who can deal with the sin problem - we need Jesus Christ.

Solomon points out that life is meaningless 'under the sun' without God.
