Jesus is the creator and Lord over all things. He reveals God the Father to us and creates all things and sustains all things.

Godly wisdom

We need to pray for each other. Paul prays two things for the believers in Colossae - discernment & discipline dependence.

When the gospel is proclaimed there is fruit and growth. Praise God for the rapid spread of the gospel throughout the world. Yet there is more people who need to hear about Jesus. There is 5.5 billion reason to go and proclaim the truth.

Enjoy life with God. Get saved honour God and enjoy life in his presence.

Learn to respect authority, but keep honouring God above all others and enjoy Him

Paul does complement the believers for their faith, love and hope but he complements and thanks the giver... the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. The reality is we are not wonderful people we have a wonderful Saviour.

Introduction to Paul letter to the Colossians. The church that struggled to fight against error need to hear that Jesus must be centre of their lives and their church.

Solomon says 'It is good that you should take hold of this, and from that withhold not your hand, for the one who fears God shall come out from both of them Eccl 7:18 (ESV) think it through, if the legalistic religious fool is going to hell and the sinful man who thinks he has a licence to live what ever way he want is going to hell. Then sin is wrong and religion is wrong. Sin is a barrier to salvation and religion is a barrier to salvation. What we need is a proper understanding of God's word and of what God says about salvation. Solomon summaries it in two words 'fear God.'
