The age group of 5 to 17 is the hardest hit with local cases of viral meningitis, which continues to spread in Washoe County. Children are 53% of the cases since mid-July.

Washoe County School Superintendent Tracie Davis is giving a big thumbs up to the students who helped the district achieve an 84% graduation rate in 2017.

This morning at about 6:30, a pedestrian was crossing Center Street north of 1st Street and was hit by a vehicle. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.
