Sparks Police are looking for a man who robbed two people around ten Sunday night near Hawk's Nest Court and Garfield Drive. Two men were walking in the area when the suspect ran up and attacked them, hitting both men with a firearm. The victims received minor injuries, and were robbed of an unknown amount of cash. The suspect was last seen running from the area, and is described as a tall black man with an average build, wearing dark clothing. If you have any information on the suspect, call secret witness. There's a $1,500 reward for the arrest and prosecution of the suspect in this incident.

The winners of the Best in the West Nugget Rib Cookoff have been announced, and first place for 2017 goes to the Chicago BBQ Company from Burr Ridge, Illinois. They'll take home bragging rights and a big check for $10,000. Uncle Bub's placed second, and wins $5,000, and third place this year goes to Aussom Aussie. Rounding out the top five in fourth place is local caterer Carson City BBQ, followed up by Austin's Texas Lightning in fifth. Uncle Bub's also wins the best sauce category, and a $500 dollar prize. The People's Choice winner this year...Back Forty Texas BBQ from Pleasant Hill California. Plans are already in place for the 30th annual Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off in 2018, scheduled for Wednesday, August 29th through Monday, September 3rd.

The Pershing County Sheriff's office says a man who broke through security and climbed into the burning man as it burned last night has died. Investigators say 41-year-old Aaron Joel Mitchell was able to break through two lines of security and enter the fire. Black Rock City fire personnel pulled Mitchell from the fire at about 10:20 last night and started emergency medical treatment there before he was airlifted to the burn center at U-C Davis where he was pronounced dead at 6:28 this (Sunday) morning. The sheriff’s office says tests show Mitchell was not intoxicated. Results are still pending for drugs. The investigation into the incident is continuing and trying to determine why Mitchell ran into the fire.

Two hundred Nevada inmates may be headed to an Arizona prison. The Nevada Legislature The Legislature approved Gov. Brian Sandoval’s request for over $12 million to send 200 inmates out of state to ease overcrowding at Southern Desert Correctional Center, which will temporarily close 212 beds. New plans also allow the department to send inmates out of state if they are involved in gang activities inside prison walls.

The Carson City Sheriff's office says a man was flown to Renown Regional Medical Center last night after he was stabbed on East Long Street in Carson Ciy. Investigators say both people involved in the incident shortly before seven have been interviewed and no arrests have been made. The man’s condition this morning at Renown Regional Medical Center is not yet available. The sheriff's office is not releasing the names of those involved at this time.

A father and daughter have been found after their jet ski broke on the water at the Needle Rocks on the north end of Pyramid Lake. They were rescued just after midnight......

The Slinkard Fire is now around 9,051 acres, or 14.1 square miles according to Sierra Front, with 35% containment as of Sunday morning. The fire has burned into Nevada, to U.S. 395, and crossed California 89 to the north.....
