An 18 member task force from Nevada is in Texas, helping victims of Tropical Storm Harvey.

The Best in The West Nugget Rib Cook off is putting out plenty of fragrant smoke, but several wildfires are putting a different kind of smoke in the air around northern Nevada. Here's the status on the major fires in our region:

A Nevada Army Guard Chinook helicopter took off from Stead this week for Texas, to help emergency responders in the wake of Hurricane Harvey. The helicopter crew will work with the Texas National Guard on a variety of missions.
