Last summer Washoe Lake turned into nothing more than a dry lake bed, but thanks to all the storms this season, the lake is now back up to its natural rim. The record runoff into the lake, fed by 11 streams, has brought more water into the lake than it's had since 1997. And snow melt is expected to bring more water down the hill, and into the Lake. That's brought a lot of folks out early to camp and recreate, including the first waterskier, who hit the lake a couple weeks ago, according to park officials. Keep in mind that if go out to Washoe Lake to camp, parts of the grounds are still under water, and may be a few weeks before it recedes enough to access all the campsites, which are already getting booked out this month by visitors.

The Reno City Hall parking garage will be closed to the public starting at 5:00 tomorrow morning for repairs. Limited parking will be available on the ground floor of the parking garage for vehicles displaying a handicapped parking placard. City Hall visitors can park at the Cal-Neva parking garage on floors 7, 8 and 9 in the interim. The garage is expected to reopen on Wednesday, April 12, 2017.
