Francis William “Bill” Farr, who served as the city of Sparks fire chief longer than anyone and also served as a Washoe County commissioner and Nevada state senator, died Saturday. Farr was 93 years old. Details on any funeral arrangements were not immediately available. Farr served as Sparks fire chief from 1951 to 1976.
