A state lawmaker, who is also a registered foreign agent for Saudi Arabia, is quitting her job at a consulting firm, "Organized Karma." Assemblywoman Shannon Billbray-Axelrod was one of four foreign agents working on behalf of the Saudi Kingdom to oppose a federal law that allows U.S. victims of terror attacks, like the 9-11 attacks in New York City, which were carried out by Saudi Arabians, to sue other countries for damages. Former legislator Victoria Seaman says Billbray-Axelrod should resign from the legislature, calling it "outrageous" that a state representative is being paid by a foreign government to work against the interests of U.S. citizens.

Senator Joyce Woodhouse wants the legislature to support the Marketplace Fairness Act, which would tax sales by out of state retailers online. Opponents say it would be hard to implement because every state has different tax codes. Backers say it isn't fair that Brick and Mortar local businesses have to charge the tax, and many online sellers don't. A 1992 Supreme Court decision prevents state governments from requiring remote retailers to collect tax on in-state sales.

Carson City detectives are investigating what they are calling the suspicious death of a two-and-a-half year old girl. Deputies and paramedics were called to a residence in the 100 block of Manzanita Terrace in North Carson City earlier this evening to a report that a child had fallen. They found a care-taker administering C-P-R to the child when they arrived. Paramedics began treating the toddler and rushed her to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead. Sheriff's detectives are at the Manzanita Terrace location and at another residence on Yukon Court investigating the death. No arrests have been made, however the death is being investigated as suspicious. An autopsy is expected to be done this weekend.

The Pyramid Lake Paiute Tribe announced the completion of repairs to Warrior Point, one of the most popular recreational beaches on the shores of Pyramid Lake.

Six prison guards and an inmate were injured in a brawl at the prison in Susanville.

An inmate attacked an officer Wednesday in the dining hall, and about 30 other prisoners joined in

Officers used physical force, pepper spray and non-lethal bullets to end the riot.

Four officers were treated for minor cuts and bruises, a correctional counselor suffered a broken thumb. An inmate is being treated for a broken eye socket.
