A construction crew working in the area of Nevada and William streets in Carson City severed a gas line around 2pm today, causing a gas leak that's prompted an evacuation.

Governor Brian Sandoval has made another request for a disaster declaration, this time for the flooding that occured in February.

That gas leak in Carson City is under control, all evacuations have been lifted in the North Nevada Street, Sophia, and Curry Street area.

Reno Police have been dealing with multiple window smash burglaries since January 21st, many in the North West Reno area including the Viewcrest Shopping center in the 3600 Block of Kings Row. Victim businesses reported having their front door windows smashed and multiple bar and restaurant supplies taken, including cash drawers and electronics. Video surveillance from the businesses depicted multiple suspects making entry and quickly looting the business. Detectives executed a search warrant in the 3700 block of Kings Row, recovering items from five business burglaries, and two arrests 22 year old Jacob Heathcote and 26 year old Douglas Heathcote each faces 5 counts of commercial burglary.

The Nevada Assembly passed pro "LGBTQ" bills, AB 99 and AJR 2. Both bills were sponsored by, Assemblyman Nelson Araujo. He says, "No Nevadan— adult or child— should be discriminated against or punished because of who they are, or who they love. With the passage of AJR 2 and AB 99, we are ensuring our state laws reflect our state’s cultural heritage of liberty and personal freedom by protecting all Nevadans from discrimination.” AB 99 requires foster homes and mental health facilities to respect children's gender identity. AJR 2 would add same sex marriage to Nevada’s Constitution.

He's written to the President, and has asked for assistance from the Army Corps of Engineers for help specific to Lemmon Valley. February floods also left damage in Douglas County, Elko County and Carson City, and the Governor says he's making sure we are better prepared for the potential for flooding during the spring runoff.
