Former Mayor Leroy Goodman says Fernley is not getting a fair shake from Nevada Taxation officials. The former Fernley mayor and others say they aren't getting a fair share of the "C" Tax. That's a combination of Liquor, Tobacco, and Real Estate Transfer fees collected by the state and distributed to local governments. This year Fernley will get about 150 thousand of the one-point-three billion that will be shared. Meanwhile cities like Mesquite and Elko get millions. Goodman says while other cities get 25 dollars per person, Fernley gets seven dollars and 60 cents.
