The University of Nevada Reno and the university's football coach Brian Polian have decided to part ways. A national search for a new head coach for the program will begin immediately. In a statement Polian says, he appreciates the opportunity he was given by President Johnson and the University of Nevada four years ago. He says he felt and continues to feel, that they were building a solid foundation for the football program. He says this season was fraught with adversity and in the end, the team did not win enough games. Polian says, like every coach, he understands that college football is a business. and wishes he could have produced better results in 2016."

Dandelion Deli & Cafe on Wells Avenue has closed after more than 20 years in business. Anthony DeMasi, owner of the restaurant, announced the closing on Facebook on Thanksgiving Day. A sign affixed to the inside of Dandelion Deli's front door stated Walden's Coffeehouse, a popular Caughlin Ranch spot, would be "opening very soon at this location."

A fire yesterday morning destroyed a home in a remote part of Palomino Valley.... 12 miles down a dirt road from Pyramid Highway. Neighbors reported smoke from the home just before 10:30. The owner was out of town at the time of the fire, and no one was injured. Fire water tenders had a hard time getting to the house because of switchbacks on a narrow access road, so TMFD ran a hose from a nearby pond. The house was a total loss.
