The South Lake Tahoe Police Department tracked down the suspect who was contaminating food at Raleys Hot Wok and Baja Fresh at the Crescent V Shopping Center last week, and now they need people that know the suspect to come forward.

A man was shot to death in a Thanksgiving night dispute in the parking lot of a Wal-Mart in Reno. Now police say the incident is possibly a case of self-defense.

Two inmates were treated at a hospital for injuries after a fight that may have involved as many as half the 145 inmates at the minimum-security prison camp outside Elko. Department of Corrections spokeswoman Brooke Keast says police and sheriff's deputies from surrounding areas helped stop the brawl fighting after it erupted about 9:15 p.m. Sunday at the Carlin Conservation Camp.

Colin Kaepernick was greeted with a chorus of boos today when he took the field at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida. The loud jeers came after Kaepernick, speaking to Miami reporters on Wednesday, defended his decision to wear a T-shirt depicting Malcolm X with the recently deceased Fidel Castro in August. In the conference call, which took place before Castro’s death on Friday, Kaepernick also praised the late Cuban dictator for his work in regards to the communist nation’s education system. Following the game, Kaepernick said that his previous comments were taken out of context.

It was announced today that the University of Nevada Reno and football coach Brian Polian have mutually decided to part ways, and that Polian will not be retained as the Wolf Pack’s head coach. A national search to identify the next head coach for the program will begin immediately. In a statement he said: “I appreciate the opportunity that I was given by President Johnson and the University of Nevada four years ago. I felt, and continue to feel, that we were building a solid foundation for this program. However, this season was fraught with adversity and in the end, we did not win enough games. Like every coach, I understand that this is a business. I wish we would have produced better results in 2016."

Dandelion Deli & Cafe on Wells Avenue has closed after more than 20 years in business. Anthony DeMasi, owner of the restaurant, announced the closing on Facebook on Thanksgiving Day. A sign affixed to the inside of Dandelion Deli's front door stated Walden's Coffeehouse, would be "opening very soon at this location".

While millions are driving this holiday, 27 million people are flying during the Thanksgiving travel period. It's expected to be a new record thanks to an improving economy.
