Sparks police are investigating a vehicle-vs.-motorcycle crash on Glendale Avenue and South 15th street.

Members of the American Indian Movement of Northern Nevada are calling for the Federal Justice Department to investigate Reno Police, and for Police Chief Jason Soto to resign. This after a young man who hit five protestors with a truck initially wasn't arrested, and then was charged with, "provoking an assault." Two of the protestors were charged with battery, for punching 18 year old Nick Mahaffey and his passenger in the face. They say they were responding to harassment, when Mahaffey drove his truck through protesters, sending 59 year old Kitty Colbert to the hospital with a broken pelvis. Raquel Archer of "AIM" says this was a premeditated hate crime, and that Mahaffey went out of his way to start trouble, even circling the block to antagonize protesters again. They say the protestors who have been charged with battery, were simply protecting their families.

Searchers have found the crash site of a small Cessna aircraft and the body of its pilot that were reported missing last Saturday. Sergeant Tasha Thompson of the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office says the missing aircraft wreckage was found in a rugged area of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, southwest of Lake Schmidella little after this (Tuesday) afternoon. The pilot's body was found outside the aircraft's wreckage. The identity of the male pilot is being withheld until the Coroner's office has confirmed that identity.

A recording from a private event last week reveals more about Republican Rep. Joe Heck's fears that Donald Trump will hurt him in his tight Nevada Senate race. The recording of Heck obtained by CNN offers details on why the three-term congressman revoked his Trump endorsement earlier this month. Heck says he wanted to support the Republican nominee, but he said Trump cannot stay on message and can't win the race by appealing to a small subset of the Republican base. He said he fears Trump could suppress Republican turnout and make it hard for him to win retiring Democratic Sen. Harry Reid's seat.
