Governor Brian Sandoval signed the bill into law this morning that clears the way for a Las Vegas stadium that could be home to both UNLV football and the Raiders.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a person of interest in a shoplifting theft at a Walmart. The incident occurred at the Walmart on U-S 395 in Carson City on September 25th. Deputies say the suspect entered the store and placed a Samsung 48 inch television and a Vizio sound bar in a cart and walked out without paying for the items. The same suspect apparently entered the same Walmart on October first and tried to steal a flat screen television, but was stopped by a store employee. He's described as an Asian man in his 40's driving an older black Saab with Utah plates.

Fire management officials have increased the containment on the Little Valley fire to 90 percent and reduced the acreage burned from a little less than 35-hundred acres to a little less than 23-hundred acres. They say Firefighters continue mopping up around homes, addressiong hazard trees and smoldering stumps and securing the fire perimeter. Washoe County officials have a reentry plan and will allow displaced residents to return to the area as soon as it is safe to do so. Great Basin Incident Management Team personnel in coordination with the Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, Washoe County and utility companies are working together to restore services in the fire affected area in order for residents to return safely. Twenty-two residences and 17-outbuildings were destroyed while 480-homes have been saved in the direct vicinity of the fire. Firefighters say Multiple structures remain under threat until 100-percent containment has been achieved.

Washoe County Sheriff’s Office Detectives are on the hunt for a man who robbed the Sun Valley Smoke Shop on Saturday for an unknown amount of cash. Detectives got a call around seven in the evening regarding a man who had robbed the shop after pulling a weapon on the clerk. The suspect is described as around 5 feet 5 inches tall, wearing a black cap, black hoodie, and a blue bandana covering his face. He also appeared to be left handed. Reno Police are looking for the driver of an SUV who hit a woman in the area near Parr Blvd. and Bennie Lane last Friday, then took off. The woman is expected to recover. The SUV, is described by witnesses as a 90's dark colored Jeep Cherokee or Grand Cherokee, has gray plastic on the lower portion of the doors, and damage to the front end.
